Rejected application.
My application read was rejected for the following:
"Specific problems found in your application: there are editing and sibilance issues throughout your read."
How can I learn exactly what needs to be fixed in my editing process?
How do I reapply to be a pro?
Thank you,
Conchita Congo

Hello, Conchita.
For future inquiries, please share a link to the audio you are referring to so anyone can provide feedback :)
Listening to your application I found multiple issues.
1) The audio quality is not the best. Right from the start, the voice sounds filtered. Did you add any processing? Noise reduction?
2) There are noticeable editing cuts throughout the read: 0:03, 0:11, 0:16, 0:21, 0:23... make sure you add proper fade in/out. There is a loud cut at the end of every sentence pretty much. Take time to edit smoothly, it'll make your recording sound professional.
3) There are undesired plosives: 0:05, 0:18, 0:22..
4) you can add a de-esser to clean the audio from sibilance or rethink the mic positioning.
To re-apply, just go to your VoiceBunny Pro profile, and click in the option to continue with the application process.
I hope this helps!
Best,
Juan.
Thank you for your detailed critique. I shall work on those areas to clean up my siblance & plosives, as well as my editing skills & reapply.

I agree with Juan Santiago, Conchita!
Please share your recording when you've improved that :) We can let you know if it's up to our standards or if maybe you need to make some more twitches here and there.
My application was rejected because of noise. I did edit my audio file. I have a professional home recording studio. That's well treated. I edited the audio file and sent it back through customer service.
I did not edited my audio file I should of said.
Hi Raymond!
Please note we do not receive takes via email for review. If you'd like us to listen to this file, you need to please share it via the Community space with us alongside our team's comments for us to check.
You can share a Dropbox, Google Drive, Soundcloud or similar link so we can listen to the recording.
Thanks!
To be honest here I thought that Voice bunny did not want me to edit my audio audition. I sent a partial file unedited. I do have a professional home studio with professional equipment. I am a International working Voice over artist with contracts with companies. I do all of my recording right here in my home studio. I am now sharing with everyone the edited voice over of the whole script I done for voice bunny. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8mWap-m-Iz1Q2xoQVlEUVo2dmc/view?usp=sharing
Hi Raymond!
Thanks for sharing.
Are you using a noise reduction plugin? The effect on the endings of each sentence and on the breaths is quite noticeable. If you are, I would suggest you consider modifying the conditions where you're recording and try to avoid the use of the plug in as it does distort the quality a bit.
No I not using any noise reducing plugin. I have clients who has never pointed any of this out on my work for them. My studio is very much treated. I have professional equipment and have had no issues getting work because of noise. Oh well I guess voice bunny was not a place I am suppose to be. Thanks for everything.
Raymond,
Are you using any processing? Maybe we can point where the problem I notice can be coming from.
Sorry I am using my noise reduction tool. Nothing out of the ordinary. My studio is in great same for noise reduction. Thank you guys I believe I will just move on.
How do I delete my account
The sound I believe you're hearing is the ending of my words. If you cut them out it cuts the word short.
I'm sorry about the rant. It's just tough when you do everything that you are taught to do and it's still not good enough for some people. I was in a hurry the night I recorded it so there is a possibility that I normalized the file. This could be the problem I'm not sure. Thanks for your feed back.
Hi, Raymond!
A couple of notes on your recording, hopefully you'll find them useful.
1. There's no need to leave that much silence at the start of the file. We recommend leaving half a second, but 5 seconds is too much.
2. For some reason, your voice sounds thin and distant from the mic. I think you have a great voice, so it's a shame the deliverable sounds filtered in the low end. It could be the mic, or if you added any processing later on, but the recording is missing that rich and full tone of your voice.
3. There is indeed a loud constant noise, like hum and hiss. Would you mind sharing with us what equipment are you using?
Best,
Juan.
Hi Raymond
I totally understand the frustration. It's OK to be that way when we see things don't work as we expect them to. Noise reduction plugins are not recommended as they can distort and damage a recording heavily if not used correctly or when used massively. We highly recommend you to stay away from them or, if you really need to use them, to make sure the audio's initial condition is the best possible.
If you want, I can totally delete your account as of now but I believe you are very good and, with some slight adjustments to your setup, can get approved! If you'd like to give it another chance, please request a reconsideration via your profile. You just need to click on "Click here to continue it." and the system will add you to our queue.
Thanks I will give it another shot. So with voice bunny we will only be submitting raw audio files is that right.
Hi Raymond
The files should be sent clean and with the best quality possible right off the bat keeping the file without any processing. However, if you really feel you need the processing, it should be kept down to a minimum and you should only use them if you are 100% confident that there is no quality loss.
Hope this made sense!
Thank you Angela I appreciate it.
Anytime, Raymond! Here to help!
