Audition Feedback - Child Voice
Hi there!
Just looking to get some feedback on the following project: https://voicebunny.com/projects/3-phone-survey
My audition was rejected for the following reason: Hi, we cannot accept your submission. Please understand we cannot accept emulations or imitations of specified age groups.
Link to audition can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwDi8nersm1nNTJTQ0djVU1uNzg/view?usp=sharing
Did this reason mean that the client wanted a child voice actor specifically (rather than an adult imitating a child? or something else?) I am an adult and frequently imitate children as a voice actor due to having a higher pitched voice, but to me this rejection statement meant that for all projects where "Child" was the preferred voice type, I would not be eligible to audition because imitations of that particular age group could not be accepted??? Just looking for further clarification, any advice on how to avoid this type of rejection in the future, and also would appreciate any other feedback on the audition itself.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post and listen!!

Hi Erin!
Thanks for sharing!
Please keep in mind that, as the rejection explains, we do only expect real children voices for projects that request Child voices. Our clients do not like receiving imitations so we always expect the auditions submitted to be real children talking. One of our main rejection reasons for this type of projects is that the sound doesn't sound legitimate so we only try to approve real child voices. If you happen to have a daughter, son, a little brother or ay kid in your family that you think could work with us, please do help him/her audition!
Overall, your recording sounds great! The only comment I would have about it is that it sounds a little too bright. If you're using an EQ, it would help if you lowered a bit the higher frequency spectrum between 8 kHz and 15 kHz. However, it's not too cumbersome and your recording sounds really good!
Thanks so much for the feedback, and the quick reply :)
Anytime, Erin!
Hi Erin.
Right, as Angela explained above, our clients tend to reject the work when it's not a genuine child voice. Therefore, we are very picky about the child voice being from a real kid. I think you do a great impersonation, though! Make sure you correct that sibilance as it's very unpleasant to the ear.
Best,
Juan.
Thank you for the additional feedback Juan
