    Hi Flávio

Can you please share the files you'd like us to review? We'd be happy to give you feedback on why your samples could not be getting attention.

    Thanks!

    Hello Flavio,

All the samples you shared with us have distortion. Probably you added a limiter at the end of the processing chain to bring the volume up, but the gain reduction you applied was too much. The samples play a very important role as it provides an idea of what the client can expect from your work.

If a client selects you based on your sample, we'll have a problem because QC won't be able to approve the deliverables with that level of gain reduction and distortion. But if we ask you to bypass the processing, then the audio will sound different than the sample and it may not be what the client expects.

For this reason, please submit samples that meet our quality requirements. That way, the experience will be much better for everyone.

    I hope this explanation helped!

    Best,

    Juan.

    Hello john,

With excerpts from audio files 1 and 2 (below), ripped video and may have gone through a sloppy processing, files 3 and 4 are my responsibility and I admit to apply dynamic processing to reduce the execible peaks of the wave, but I have never seen limiter distort a healthy waveform. I understand that you deal with a lot of people who do not understand anything about audio, but believe me, it's not my case. ;-) I ask you to check the same audios without going through your platform, follow the links:

I have other questions, but I'd rather leave it to the next steps ...
Thank you for your attention and I await your opinion.

    Best,

    Hello, Flavio!

A couple of comments on your audio files:

1 and 2. The music is too loud compared to the voice. Also, they are competing in frequencies, so it makes it even harder to follow the voice. I suggest you filter the song with an EQ to make the voice stand out better in the mix. Then you can play with dynamic processors to control the volumen, but make sure it doesn't degrade the quality of the audio.

For example in the 2nd file, At 0:08 on "dia cinco..." the voice is distorting. It could be the mic's capsule saturation.

    4. In the 4th file the voice sounds completely filtered. Did you add any noise reduction plugin? Listen how the voice sounds thing and unbalanced.

What equipment are you using? Mic, preamp, interface, DAW?

    Best,

    Juan.

    Hello juan

It is good to have a return of those who understand the subject, even if we have arguments to counter many of the criticisms received, thank you very much for the attention with my files.

I agree that the song is high on files 1 and 2, but as I provide only the locution for the producer who does the mixing and I download the videos from the internet to assemble the demos.

    Is the 3rd file ok?

At 4th file I do not realize the alleged problem, follows a mp3 only voice link of the same work for its re-evaluation, if possible.: Mackenzie-FK: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ppbo49zd87vt8k5/Mackenzie-FK.mp3?dl=0

I record in voice booth with basstrap and I usually use the Audio Technica AT4040 (eventualy ElectroVoice RE-20), Canare cables, Neutrik connectors, Focusrite VoiceMaster Pro (only with the expander active as noise gate and the hpf in 65Hz) and interface M-Audio FireWire-1814, PC i7-3770K, 16GB RAM, W7 64 bit with Adobe Audition.

    Thank you,

    Flávio Kranic

    Hello, Flavio!

I still hear the voice filtered. It's missing the low and mid frequencies. Are you using any noise reduction filter? They tend to remove important frequencies from the source, so you might want to check that.

    Best,

    Juan

    Hi Huan,

I'm amazed to find there was any sort of audio filtering, but let's go ahead. Maybe it's a consequence of the MP3 format. Please rate the wav file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3o6w02zigsvntl3/Institucional_Mackenzie-Campinas.wav?dl=0

    Hello, Flavio!

I still hear the frequencies unbalanced. There's a nasal sound that is not that appealing to the ear.

Let's try repositioning the mic to capture a more full and rounded sound, to see what results can we achieve.

    What equipment are you using?

    Juan.
