    Hi angela,

Here is what i was told in the email from qc

Uh-oh! I'm sorry, but the work you submitted for 300 Spartans Leonidas Deep Clear Voice [ver ii] was rejected by a Bunny Manager due to the following reason(s):

    Hi,
    your recording sounds heavily processed.
If you used noise reduction software or EQ, please bypass this processing because it’s degrading your deliverable.

i realize i probably would have won the content because the other auditions turn out to be better. but im just confused on why was told that my file was rejected to this reason. I didnt use noise reduction or eq or anything fx for that matter, i just normalized to 0db then adjusted the level to -3db. i was as raw as can be. just a neuman tlm 103 going in to a zoom h4n (the zoom also had all effects turned off). Thanks!

    Hello, Danilo.

Thank you for contacting us through the Community.

Your deliverable does sound a little unbalanced, with a boost in low mids and a cut in the highs. This could happen if you are recording in a small and closed space, so the high frequencies are absorbed too fast.

I've removed the rejection from your stats.

It'd be nice if you could record another take with this in mind to see how the sound varies!

    Best,

    Juan

    Thanks Juan,

hmmm thats strange, im actually recording in a large room though roughly 12'x8x 16. i realized this was the take where i tried the chaotica eyeball, could that be the culprit?

    Hi Danilo!

I agree with Juan Santiago in regards to the boost in the low mids. And what you say makes total sense. The Kaotica does, indeed, reduce the space of the recording and creates a slight boost in these frequencies. You could try to compensate by removing the Kaotica's filter and use a pop filter instead?

I haven't tried this trick myself, but I've read it works well when you need a bit more space!

    Hello, Danilo!

Nice topic you mention. It's true, I love the Kaotika because it allows to achieve a better quality recording when it comes to acoustics. However, it does attenuate the high frequencies heavily, so that's why the whole audio sounds opaque.

Try finding the sweet spot where you have the best in terms of frequency response as room echo.

Let us know how it goes! :D

    Best,

    Juan
