the jobs ask to sound like specific person but got rejected for doing his acccent? should i not have done that?

its me again. so this time the jobs ask to sound like h.p. Lovecraft which has this very distinct accent. so i did it. but i got rejected for having the accent. so my question is, even if the jobs asks for it, should you still not do the accent?
