Why my audiorecording doesn't meet the standards?

    Hi, Jose!

    Nice to meet you.

A couple of thoughts on your audio.

There is indeed hiss in the recording. You can hear it easily right at the end or in between sentences. The overall volume of the audio is low, and if you were to raise it, the noise will also come up and become more evident.

What equipment are you using? Interface, preamp, mic? That can help us understand the situation better.

Additionally, the voice sounds heavily filtered. There are almost no low frequencies. It sounds as if being played through the phone. Did you apply any filter?

Finally, there is a slight issue with sibilance. There is an excess of high frequencies that is too harsh on the ear. You can hear it easily on the S´s, how they stand out of the rest.

I hope this helps and please let us know what you think!

    Best,

    Juan.

    Hi Jose

I agree with Juan Santiago in regards to both the noise and the filtering. If you're recording in an acoustically treated space, more likely the issue is coming from your equipment. Your voice sounds very thin, sibilant and bright with little to no low frequencies. This is a key issue when recording professional voice overs.

Can you let us know which gear you're using?

    Thanks!

I also want to add that I listened to the recording for Toyota and it sounds terrible filtered, boxy and a bit distorted due to over compression. You may want to check your plugin settings as well.

Sueno terrible entonces, ¿no? jaj Qué mal... Bueno, intentaré mejorar...

    Hi Jose!

I think the noise may come from the integrated preamp of the interface. Try using an external preamp to see if you manage to get a louder but cleaner amplification of the signal.

    Best,

    Juan
