"You don't sound senior"

Contest entry for Proof of Concept Video-2
This project is listed for a senior. I checked this as an option because I feel I qualify for middle age and senior as I am 55 years old. Not old enough for social security yet but not considered a young guy, either.
I have done about 3 plus jobs before that asked for a senior and I never had a complaint until now.
I am assuming that age is in the ear of the beholder (Quality Assurance) in this matter because as previously mentioned, I never had a problem before when auditioning as a senior until this rejection.
I listened to the completed auditions on the contest page and I must say, the other gentleman do not sound much older then me at all.
I usually would not complain about not sounding older but in this case, I am. It was also for a character role so that may of played a part in this, as well.
The direction for this was to basically be calm in the first line and angry in the second.
Please tell me what you think. Personally, I feel it could be construed as middle age and senior.
You be the judge!
Thanks!

Hi Don
Thanks for sharing. I was checking the project's remarks and your voice and I do have to agree it sounds a bit young for what the client is asking for.
Senior projects can be a bit ambiguous as there are various types of older voices. This may make that your voice can be good for a certain type, but not for another. For this specific one, I have to say that the voice sounds a bit too young for the character the client was aiming for.
I also have to mention, on the quality side, that your recording has a lot of hiss in the background and the voice sounds a bit muffled. I would suggest you to review that as well.
Hello, Don!
I agree with Angela, although your voice may work in some cases, I personally think it fits better in the middle age category than in senior. The voice of the audio makes me think of a male in his 40's. Perhaps in this case, your voice might even work, but you would have to add more passion and get into the character as the client instructed. They are looking for expression, and yours may come as a little flat.
Let me know what you think!
Best,
Juan.
