Problems with sound, noices and correct use of of a record system
after having many stumbles looking for a good sound for my recordings, I think I have given the origin of the problem, however I would like the help of sound professionals to solve this inconvenience once.
To record use a Mac Book year 2009 with the garage band version 10.2 system, the sounds offered by each track does not include the sound with no effect. In the same way I can manually manipulate the equalization and controls. This is where I think the problem is generated, in the controls and the equalization. What is the correct way to set the frequency, eliminate the compression, what and how is it used or what is the correct noise level of the noise gate and the level of recording to be placed so that no external noise or clicks etc.? if I manage to control this situation then I will not have more inconveniences. On the other hand, I use a microphone with USB input, at the moment the computer does not recognize the device and the sound input becomes much more sensitive. Is it possible that the microphone cable is not working properly?
Thank you very much !
A suggestion, it would be very interesting if Voicebuny would prepare a talk about the basic uses and uses of recording systems for the broadcasters, which inevitably became small sound engineers to make quality recordings and issues to deliver good sound files.

Hi Andreína
I believe the main issue you have is your microphone. Please remember that USB microphones are not ideal for professional voice over applications. USB microphones have a very high noise floor due to having all the components inside. I think we've mentioned this before to you, but you may need to revise your gear and upgrade it to an interface + XLR microphone. TRS microphones are also more prone to be noisy as these connections are not commonly balanced enough.
Also, please make sure you're not using any post processing in your recordings. I listened to some of your last recordings from projects and I can sense you're using a noise reduction plugin which degrades the quality of the file overall. Keep in mind your recording should be as clean as possible without the need of any extra processing.
Now, in regards to the DAW, we want to give you the freedom to choose the one you consider works the best for you. We're not professional in all the DAWs there are so it's quite challenging to 'teach' you the way on how to use one. I'd suggest you look at tutorials on YouTube or find an online course that helps you understand how to record and edit using the DAW of your preference. If you'd like to learn about other DAWs you can find, we created a guide with some recommendations you can try out: https://help.bunnyinc.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000567930-4-Digital-Audio-Workstations-for-VO-artists
If you'd like to know more on microphones, we hosted a webinar that explains more in detail how they work, why USB microphones are not idea and we also give you some recommendations on mics you can try. However, keep in mind that these are just recommendations. There are way too many mics out there, so what may be OK for my voice, may not be for you. You can find the webinar recap here: https://help.bunnyinc.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/205414030-Microphone-101
Hope this helps!
HI ANGELA.
IT´S TRUE YOU TOLL ME ABOUT THIS BEFORE, AND I REALISE, FINALY , DESPITE MY STUBBORNNESS, THAT USB MICROPHONE IS NOT CONVINIENT. I´M GOING TO MAKE MI BEST EFFORT TO INVEST IN A NEW MIC YOU RECOMENDED .IS WORTHWHILE, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE IT IS AN IMPORTANT WORK TOOL
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PATIENT AND COMPREHENSION
BEST!
Hi Andreina Faria,
I just bought the Sennheiser MK4 and i'm truly impressed. 100%. It is the same company that makes the expensive Neumann Microphones. I was recommended to use it and i am super happy with it. I have so many Rode microphones and Shure microphones and this new Sennheiser is really my favorite now.
Kind Regards,
Jason
Great , then I´m going to try with this mic. I´m very tired of hearing mysterious sounds without solution.
Thank you so much!
just be sure you have a good recording room, this mic is super nice and clean and has a high output. i really recommend it right now as the best voice over mic. some people say it sounds cartoony and narrative and that is exactly what your going for. here it is on amazon.

or the package with stand and cable and everything you need.

you will also need a sound card, and you can find this one has the lowest noise floor to give you the cleanest sound.

Awesome recommendation, Jason!
To me, you can't go wrong with Sennheiser. It's one of my favorite brands.
