    Hi Jason

Thank you for reaching out about this!

I was reviewing your profile and it was deactivated due to some critical quality issues that have been consistently present in your recordings.

At this moment, we are performing a periodical review around all our current Pros to determine how their performance has been and how it has improved taking into account our revision requests. We're doing this to review all our active Pros and, in you case, we found that we have had to request constant revisions around the same problems to achieve a recording we can forward our clients. I hope you can understand this scenario is not ideal as we request revision to point problems you may have aiming to help you improve.

In your specific case, we found the following issues your deliverables have quite a boomy sound. Also, your recordings are heavily damaged by over processing. We have mentioned this before in our revisions, yet no improvement has been made. We have approved some of your recordings over this time, but we're reinforcing our quality standards now deeming these issues no longer viable for delivery.

However, please know that our doors are always open if you’d like to reapply when the issues we've mentioned have been addressed. We're always available to help and you can share your recordings in this space so we can help you as much as we can. Once we consider that the issues have been addressed, I will personally reinstate your account.

If you have any pending payments to be processed, please know you’ll get them normally and you’ll be able to withdraw your funds anytime.

I hope you understand where we’re coming from and please know that we apologize for any frustration this could've caused.

Hi Angela. Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate the time. I actually had my system looked at and found the trouble just prior to being deactivated. What can I do to re-submit something to you for approval? I think you will see by my feedback that things should be good otherwise. I do understand the concern however.

    Hello Jason,

As the QC team pointed out in some of your deliverables, your recordings sound heavily filtered. There is an unbalanced frequency response, lacking lows and a boost in the highs. Are you using a noise reduction plugin?

The heavy processing combined to unnatural editing is giving the deliverables a robotic feel. One of the main reasons why our clients reject our work.

Please review your setup and make the necessary upgrades to improve the quality of your work. What equipment are you using? Mic, preamp, interface? We can help you identify where the problem may be.

    Best,

    Juan.

    Hi Juan,

Thank you for your reply and insight.  I just posted in the feedback section as well, but here is the link to a piece with four samples of the same small snippet of text.  Can you tell me which sounds best, and may be acceptable?

I'm in a whisper room with sound reduction and running things through a WARM pre-amp with Focusrite saffire 6.  I do use a nectar plug in to boost sound, and upon the first feedback, discovered that the EQ was cutting out more low than I prefer.

The final two samples at the end of this link are using the Nectar... the first with the EQ completely turned off, and the second with EQ on, but at almost the bottom.  I understand about the unnatural editing.  The gate was set extremely high as well acting as kind of a vacuum to the end of the words.

Anyway, will any of these samples work?

    Hi Jason,

What mic are you using? I'm still not convinced of the frequency response in general.

For some reason the voice sounds distant. When you compress it, like the 3rd take, you manage to bring the voice closer, but you are lifting all the noise and background around it. So at the end, the voice is not pristine but noisy and blurry. Also try a less agressive compression/limiting. It's causing distortion.

    What mic are you using?

    Best,

    Juan.
