    Hi Angela,

Thank you for the email response on 1/5/18. I am replying to you via the community space per your request.

I appreciate the detailed explanation as to why my account has been disabled including the list of samples in question. Over the holidays I received new studio headphones so I was pretty excited to go through each one. I agree a lot of them are not up to my standards let alone Voice Bunnys. However some of the samples I believe are not so bad and that with a little clean up would meet the VB standards.

    • Please delete the list of samples that you sent to me and I will resubmit the samples in question after I have re-mastered them.

In your email you said that most of my samples did not pass the test. While this is true, there is still a good number of samples that were not on the list you sent me.

    • Please reinstate my profile using the samples that passed the recent Voice Bunny QC.

Thank you again for checking the quality of my work and making sure that it is kept up to a professional standard. I look forward to many more projects working with VB.

    Sincerely,

    Adam

    Hi Angela,

I have gone through the files that I believe were able to be fixed.  I am submitting 11 samples for re-evaluation. The link below is to their folder on google drive...

     https://drive.google.com/open?id=17ej7mi6f-APWD1b89YDTAeWWLepoZJTJ

I look forward to your response.

If anyone else is interested please feel free to listen and share your feedback as well.

    Thank you,

    Adam

    Hi Adam!

Let me go over both your comments.

In regards to the samples, we don't have access to remove samples ourselves. This is because we want to respect your decision of taking them down or not at all times. We'll only take them down if there is sensitive material included in them that may be offensive. Can you please remove them?

Now, in regards to the profile. We will be able to reactivate it only at the moment that we have reviewed the samples and consider it's up to our standards. Let me go ahead and review the ones you shared in the drive folder. I'll let you know my general comments to keep the response as concise as possible.

The files have a lot of room echo, sibilance and over compression/excessive gain and editing problems. I can also pick up some noise reduction or de-breathing filtering which degrades the overall frequency response and quality of the files.

The noise reduction is not that obvious in all of them, but you can clearly pick it up on the Dwarf file on the breath sounds.

The overcompression/excessive gain is the most noticeable on the Gruff soldier file as it has some distorted areas to the ear. In this file, you can also pick up that there are several editing clips which not only are distracting, but also cut the flow of the take. I know you're screaming on this one, but please bear in mind you should always separate yourself from the mic when screaming or adjust the gain so the takes don't distort.

The room echo is caused by insufficient acoustic treatment and mic positioning in the space. I suggest you review how you're treating your space and see how you can adjust it. You can also review where and how you're locating your mic in the space. This can certainly be a game changer depending on the nature of the room.

    Hope this helped!

    Hi Angela,

Thank you for your response. I understand that this recent "Bunny Pro Purge" (I've coined that phrase BTW) has been a major shake-up in the community, and by the look of things it has been mainly you picking up the pieces. I apologize if I have come across as pushy or unappreciative of your work. Understand please that it is a bit jarring when an income opportunity source is suddenly cut off for no explained reason, the knee jerk response can be unfavorable. So thank you for your diligence in clearing up this matter.

Now, I have deleted all of the samples that were listed. I apologize, I didn't realize I still had access to do that.

FYI, all of those samples were recorded before I upgraded my recording space. The results I think speak for themselves in the samples that passed QC in the great Bunny Pro Purge of '17.

Thank you for your time and energy. I look forward to my account  being re-activated and to many more projects on VB.

    Sincerely,

    Adam

I'm sorry, but what does this mean? Will you be reactivating my account or not? I currently have 13 samples that have been approved by VB. They are sitting in my profile, being listened to by NOBODY! Because my profile is still locked! Have you listened to them? Have you seen any of the other messages I have sent? Expressing my frustration with this situation! Plus having to wait 2-3 days for a response....

    Please re-acctivate my account now!

    Loosing my patience,

    Adam

    Hi Adam

Please keep in mind that only removing the samples is not the only thing necessary to reactivate the profile. Juan Santiago and myself need to review also your current settings so we can provide you with our feedback and determine if the issues that were present in the sampels and that caused the deactivation are not there anymore. Please understand this is a measure we have to take to ensure that we're giving all our users the same treatment and to ensure that we're providing only the best quality to our clients in our Search.

As I mentioned previously, you shared some new samples that still present problems (files Dwarf and Gruff Soldier for example). For this reason we won't be able to reactivate the profile just yet. As I mentioned in my initial email, we will only reactivate a profile once we have considered the quality is approvable and we feel it will be up to the standards we want to offer our clients.

I apologize if this wasn't clear. We look forward to all the samples you want to share with us with the adjustments provided to fix the problems mentioned above.

    Angela,

So let me see if I understand this. If I would have deleted the samples in question instead of re-sending them to you, my account would have been re-activated? Because if you would have said this in the first place we could have avoided ALL of this

As I mentioned previously. Those samples were NOT newly recorded. They were the same samples, I only tried to clean them up and resubmit it them. When that was not successful I deleted them, like you told me to do.

As I mentioned previously. There are 13 samples in my profile that were approved by the Bunny Pro Purge. These samples  represent my "current settings". These samples are from projects that I did with Voice Bunny in November. Samples that Voice Bunny placed in my profile after I had finished the projects.

As I mentioned previously. I have updated my booth since I recorded the samples that were rejected. The 13 samples currently sitting in my profile were recorded after I upgraded my booth.

Here is a link to my sample page. Please review them. If they are bad please let me know and I will remove them and re-record everything for you.

I don't know what else I could possibly do for you to re-activate my profile. I have answered all of your questions and supplied you with enough evidence that my quality is up to VB standards.

    Adam

Here is a link to the last project I did with VB before I went on my holiday hiatus. The project was accepted by VB and the client. The only revision was due to difficulty in pronouncing a certain Yiddish word. Other than that, it received a positive review from the client; which I have not been able to read, because my profile is down.

    Hi Adam

My apologies for any communication issues and my failing to explain the situation appropriately.

I checked the last file you shared and I find the following issues with it:

    - High level of hiss.
    - Over compression or excessive gain in case you're not using a compressor.
    - Plosives and mouth noises.
    - Sibilance.

I believe the high level of hiss could be coming from the extra gain or the compressor. Can you please lower the gain from your preamp and bypass the compressor if you're using it? I'd also recommend you to record off-axis to reduce the sibilance. This would also help the mouth noises and recording a bit farther away from your pop filter will reduce the plosives a lot.

Can you please try that and share a new recording? Thank you.

    Hi Angela,

Thank you for responding to me today and for taking the time to review my submission.

I have made some adjustments since returning to my studio this year (mic/ pop filter adjustments, new mic cable and studio headphones). Here is a small sample I recorded today. I hope you get a chance to listen before the end of the day.

    Hi Adam

    Thank you for sharing.

So, the recording still has some plosives. Can you try recording a bit farther away from the mic? A couple of cm would help. Also, there's a lot of background noise and hiss. At the beginning you can hear some movement right at 0:01 - 0:03 so I believe the hiss his coming from the acoustic treatment of the space.

I can also feel the recording sounds a bit filtered or boxy. Are you adding any type of processing?

    Hi Angela,

I have been adding a little bit of EQ to my recordings.

In this new recording: I have backed off of the mic a touch, and the only editing I did was normalize to 3db and cleanup breaths and mouth noises by negative amplifying.

I hope this is the one...

    Hi Adam

    Thanks for sharing.

So, I checked the file and there's some room echo that is impacting the recording. Would it be possible to add some padding? If you have some flat surfaces around you that are uncovered, you could try to add some blankets to see if the reflections reduce.

The sound is much better and I'm sure we'll get there really soon!

    Hi Angela,

I hope that you had a nice weekend. My recording space is fully decked out with acoustic foam, I think the that I may have been just a touch too far from the mic.

I picked up a new POP filter (now using two) and re-positioned the mic. Hoping that this is the one...

Also, No compression or EQ added. Only normalized to -3.

    Have a great day,

    Adam

    Hi Adam

I'm sorry for not getting back to you earlier last week. I was out of office due to my mother's passing anniversary and took the week off. I'm now here and will be taking care of checking your recording now.

So, as for the room echo it does sound much better! I can barely pick up any reflections which is really great. However, I believe you may be recording a bit too near. Can you please record a bit farther away 1 or 2 inches? I also think it would help if you can lower the gains preamp a bit.

We're almost there! I'm sure! Your performance is really fantastic and I'm seriously glad you've been so patient and hard working :)

    Hi Adam!

I finally made it to your post :)

So, after catching up with the thread and listening to your audio I have the following comments. The audio in general sounds heavily processed. It sounds heavily compressed; it's distorting the voice and lifting the noise floor. How much gain reduction are you getting from the processors?

Another important aspect is the room echo and the noise floor of your space. It's masking your voice and degrading the quality of the audio.

    What equipment are you using?

It'd be great to hear a raw take to listen better to your setup and recording space.

    Best,

    Juan

    Hi Angela, Hi Juan,

Sorry no response from me. I had a cold last week and kind of lost my voice, it's back now, but not quite where I'd like it to be. Should be tomorrow.

    I am now confused. Again.

Angela thank, I have been taking your notes and felt that my recording was there but I understand what your saying and I will move back a touch.

Juan. I'm sorry but what recording are you referring to? In the last sample I added no processing and only normalized to -3db, as directed and as I explained. Are you listing to old samples?

Please explain. Because you are contradicting Angelas review completely.

    Thank you.

    Hi Adam

    I'm sorry for the delay.

As you can tell we've been quite busy and it takes some time to get up to date with all the requests we get on a daily basis. We attempt to give the same treatment to all our Pros and pay attention to all of you which may result in some of our reviews to take some time. Also, as you're so near to being able to get reinstated, I want to make sure I give you comments that align with Juan Santiago's as well. We want to give you the most accurate comments so we have been sitting down together to review your latest recordings lately.

After checking them, we have reached a consensus and have just reactivated your account. You should be able to start receiving all types of projects and building new samples as of now. Please make sure the old, rejected samples are removed!

Thank you for your awesome patience and hard work. We're happy to have you back :)

    Hi Adam!

Congrats! It sounds much better! The recording I was referring to in the other post is this one https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fZsu95RcXIaFUWk8WDhdIypg_1J9afp6

There is a slight ambiance in the recording but we are good to go! Welcome back! We are aware of the inconvenience all of this hassle may cause, so thanks for sticking out throughout the process and being willing to tweak your sound.

    Your account has been reinstated.

Out of curiosity, what are the settings on your EQ? I suggest you try cutting a bit, around -3dB,  close to 500Hz. In my opinion, there's kind of a nasal sound, and this will help you reduce that effect. Otherwise, you could try repositioning your mic to capture a different sound.

    Best,

    Juan!
