Audition rejected for voice over processed and hiss
Hello!
Can someone please listen to my audition that was rejected and offer any suggestions regarding what I can do differently to ensure success?
Here are my specs: Blue Spark Condensor Mic, Avid Fast Track Duo USB Interface, MAC, GarageBand for DAW.
Also, I didn't use any plugin except for slightly using a de-esser.
Here is the audition:

Hi Jesse
Thanks for sharing
I was listening to the file, and it has a lot of hiss noise. There could be several causes for this. It can be caused by your preamp or your space's acoustic treatment. I could also pick up the gain is pretty high. This could also be making the noise floor higher so I would suggest you lower the gain from your preamp.
If you're using a compressor, please bypass it!
Thanks Angela! I will go back in my studio and check on what you mentioned. I do know I was not using a compressor. Thanks again :)
Awesome, Jesse!
I look forwar to a new recording :) If you're not using a compressor, more likely the preamp's gain is a bit too high which is causing some problems. Let's hope we can get to the bottom of it!
