Speedies and a fair playing field

    Thanks Ted,

I know how tough it is getting those jobs when the same couple of veteran Bunny pros swoop up 90% of Speedies.

I'm noticing that when I get Speedies, and I accept them within a second, a couple of other pros that get 90% of the jobs seem to be starting those jobs 5-10 seconds after my countdown starts. Are some pros getting invites sooner than others, or are they bypassing the countdown? I'm confused by how they can be getting 9 out of 10 jobs consistently while everyone else get 1 out of 10 Speedies.

So now it seems that Speedies that come in are being swept up less than 10 seconds into the countdown, even if I accept a job the second it comes in and start the countdown as soon as the project page opens. I have a 300 Gbps download connection, really good stats and my reward prices are rock bottom. I wonder what advantage those 2 pros on the site that get all the jobs have over everyone else.

How's everyone's speedy / contest invitations been the last few weeks? It seems like crickets - I think 1 a day vs the 20 or so I was getting last month.

So, I have pretty much given up speedies. I raised my rates so that it would pay a little more when I got a paid booking. Today I was pretty slow with my other vo work so out of curiosity I dropped my rates to the bare minimum to qualify for speedies again. Sure enough, the notification bell started going off! And, sure enough, every speedy was already taken by the same 3-5 group of guys who have been getting them all along.

The bunny help department has always been courteous and asked for patience as we've been told they were looking into ways of making it fairer. But, I started this thread in December of 2022 and it seems nothing has changed. It's frustrating.

The Bunny team keeps stating that they're looking at a more equitable way of inviting Pros to participate in Speedies, which is a problem, but in my experience that's not the BIGGEST problem, which is that regardless of the number of speedies, it's impossible to claim one because the same few Pros have already accepted them by the time the timer counts down to zero.
I suggested a "virtual waiting room" scenario where when a speedy comes in, all invited Pros would have a set amount of time (60 seconds, 2 minutes, whatever) to join the waiting room. At the end of the countdown, the speedy would then be randomly assigned to one Pro who's in the waiting room. So if 10 Pros claim a spot in the waiting room, you'd have a 10% chance of getting the Speedy. That doesn't sound like great odds, but they're a big improvement when your current chances of getting a Speedy in almost zero.

Any updates for anyone? Still haven't seen any speedies in months on my end.

I lowered my rates slightly and started getting invites almost immediatley... 10 to 12 a day. I would say I win about 50% of the speedies when they come while I am working on line. I do appreciate that they increased the time needed to complete the speedies to a little over an hour. I never could understand the "quality" aspect when at times you are forced to finish what I would consider an inferior product. Fortunatley my editing skills are excellent but I feel for those just getting started as it can be added stress.

    Hola colegas.

Hola Daniel! I was pleasantly surprised to see your post alerted to me. Good to know I'm not alone. Thank goodness for google-translate to help me respond to you. You're not alone, my friend. I have now noticed nearly immediate stoppage from flow of contests and speedies for sure. Keep your dashboard ("My Projects") opened up and active on your computer, to expect a 'sound' when/"IF" a project comes down...maybe the sounder will work or not to alert you of a new project available. The fine support team assures me that there are always gaps of time. I believe that. But of late, it has been 'crickets' for anything on this platform. A drastic drop of bookings. I have adjusted rates like a roller coaster, tested my own cycles and to no avail it makes no difference. I have also questioned whatever algorithm used or how it works. It's not consistent, and do not want to believe there is favoritism over other VO pros. Clearly the platform is not consistent. Their working on it. I'm getting used to the new layout, but there are still rough edges. I also have concern the overall platform is not as revered by VO Pros as it once was. Maybe there is a decrease of clients not inclined to use the site for VO talent for their needs. There is increased discussion about its viability. I think you'll agree it is frustrating to see this happening, when at one time there was reasonable daily traffic on the site. We used to be sent a weekly list of sample select projects that came into the site from clients. At least it illustrated BS was receiving business and that Pros were successfully getting projects. I'm hoping it improves and I'm try to hang in, keeping the faith it will come back alive! It's not an easy global economy. I'm a marketer at heart. Businesses are finding other means to effectively market and brand their services. I know it's not me. Bunny Studio has been patient with me and the platform has been a great option for me to grow my business. I hope to continue to count on the site for future business. I'm even open to help them be more successful when they ask for input. Fortunately, I have other options/platforms and have cultivated my own global client pools over the years to keep me fairly busy. Cuelga ahí. Es un placer conectar contigo!!
