Contest Length 30 seconds and Instructions
Hey Guys,
I've run into this before recently and I am bringing it up again because I get many contests now (not as many won as I'd like but at least it pays) but often the instructions are tricky to see with all the copy and all the scrolling down and all the different tabbed pages you often have to go through on bunny.
Having said that and moving forward if its an audition (or contest in Bunny's terms) and if the final copy and script is complete by the client and is over 3 or 4 sentences or can't be read under 30 seconds is it really necessary to audition the entire piece?
I've seen several scripts for contests that run way over the allotted time and or that get very close to the 30 sec spot and are doable but had one today that was definitely over 30. See example below:
You’re listening to a podcast. You’re happy. And you’re paying attention. Why aren’t you advertising on podcasts yet? This spot easily comes in at 36 to 40 seconds and I had to re do 3x in order to fit it in. Was sent a revision and was paid but I essentially am auditioning for a piece that I may not get and have done the whole spot edited and produced and neatly timed. Just a lot of work and it would be great if in the future contests could just be 1 or 2 lines or at least integrate a word counter when the client is sending scripts into the system.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,Ted

Greetings, Ted!
How do you do?
Voice contests usually require only an audition script, but for some audio ads, the audition script is, in fact, the full script.
In these cases, the Pro should edit the deliverable to fit 30 seconds, and it will usually result in a fast-paced VO, such as the ones we usually listen to on the radio.
However, if the script is indeed too long to the point that it definitely will not sound ok, then you may raise a flag to let our CX team know, and they will take all necessary actions!
We hope this clears your doubts up, but please don't hesitate to reach out again if you have more questions!
If you need help to a more specific case, please message us at support@bunnystudio.com and we will check it out as soon as we can for you.

Hi Gabriela,
Thanks for your reply. I will definitely flag next time I see copy going over the 30 second mark. Is it possible to use a time compression expansion on the piece even though it will noticeably sound a bit sped up?

Greetings, Ted,
Apologies for taking a while to get back to you on this!
You can do this, however, I highly advise you confirm with our CX team so you can increase your chances of getting it right on the first try! =)
Although, if the script is indeed tricky to fit within a 30 second ad, then the team is probably aware that the speed of the submission will have to be increased.
Let us know if you have any more comments or doubts!
Best regards,
Gabriela Schneider
