Issue with project turnaround
Hi, today I accepted a contest (project ID 842F0FBFA9D4AD5E96DE) at about 4am and submitted my entry within about 20 minutes or so. My submission was not reviewed for over 5hrs, rather than “for most of our projects, our Quality Control team takes less than 30 minutes to evaluate your deliverable.” and was rejected. At which point I was given about 23 minutes to submit a revision.
Unfortunately, due to the amount of time that the review had taken I was not in a position to even get to my booth in 23 mins, let alone record something. This seems rather unfair. If you play your part and review my work in a timely manner then I can play my part and submit revisions in the same way. I’m annoyed that this rejection might impact my stats when I was not the party that delayed things.
As to the rejection itself it was noted that the character of my submission wasn’t similar in style to the sample given. Frankly my sample sounds a lot more like the original sample, which is some like an outside broadcast, than any of those which were accepted by QC.
Additionally it was said that my sample sounded “boxy” and that there may be an issue with my recording space. This is the same space that I’ve used for other recordings which have not had any issues and it doesn’t sound like there is any boxiness to me. You may be interpreting a stylistic choice to sound more “outside broadcast” in an attempt to match the original sample as an issue.

Hello Bill,
Thank you so much for reaching out with your case.
Let me apologize for the delay in your revision, usually, our QC team works very fast, but sometimes the number of projects can extend the review time, especially when we have big projects to review (We checked a 36.000-word project last weekend! It was crazy!). Again, sorry for the delay.
In regards to your submission for that project, although we can not allow you to participate again since it has already been filled with other entries, we checked your file again and agree that, although there is a tiny bit of boxiness (probably near-field reflections) it wasn't bad at all, and your delivery was very nice.
After careful consideration, our team decided to ignore this project from your stats so it doesn't affect you.
Again, sorry for the long delay and please let us know of any cases like this in the future to review them and improve as a team as well!
Kind regards,
Daniel
Many thanks
Bill
You are welcome Bill, we hope you have a great day!
