    Hi David,

Thank you for reaching out! I was trying to find an account under your name but I actually found several, could you share with me the specific email address that you have registered with us?

Also, I wanted to let you know that there is no automated sample review system, every sample is reviewed by our QC agents, and that is why I would like to check the samples myself before giving any feedback or thoughts on your case.

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

That’s much appreciated, Daniel. Thank you.
Just be aware that these are mastered and mixed down samples and the voice is clear on all.

As such I won’t be able to replace them with any new ones as these are my catalogue.

Basically, I’m trying to say, if you reject these then there are no others waiting in the wings.

Thanks again. I’m grateful for your time.

    Hello David!

Thank you for your patience, I took a bit longer than I thought because I was checking every sample and asking for second opinions on some of them. I wanted to let you know that after a second revision, around half of those samples have been approved!

The ones that are still rejected are mostly because they have reverb or other FX applied, there might be other reasons (there was one with a very sudden edit if I remember correctly) so if you want specific rejection reasons for a couple of them please share their IDs with me so I can let you know about them. Keep in mind that, although we understand they are finished jobs and some of them might require that amount of FX or mastering, we need to keep a consistent feel of our platform, meaning that we can no do distinctions between a sample with artificial reverb and one recorded in an untreated space that has lots of reverb since it would be unfair to other pros, so those rejections are for the sake of consistency in our platform and to align them with our QC guidelines.

Again, sorry If I took long to answer but I wanted to check all of them myself.

Let me know if you have any other questions or thoughts about this!

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

    Hi Daniel

No problem at all re the time, there was a lot of stuff there.

This is the perfect outcome for me.  I have half of the samples approved, I now have the reason for the others' rejection, and I understand clearly the way you like things to sound.

Thank you very much indeed for your response and your time - I feel like I've been looked after.

    David

PS (Partially related to this - when recording for you, should I apply light compression or only deliver raw?)

    Hi David,

    Thanks for your kind feedback!

Regarding that last question, as long as the compression is soft and keeps the voice sounding natural, feel free to do so! We make that comment about raw files because some Pros might not be too versed at using a compressor and can go overboard with it.

Also, we encourage editing out breaths and noises, so feel free to do it!

Let me know if I can help you with anything else!

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

    HI again, Daniel

It's been a few weeks now and I have not received a single project.

I understand this if no-one were choosing me.

I don't understand that my categories have never come up at all.

I knocked my rates down a week or two ago and again today.  I'm well within range for my peers.

Could you investigate for me please?

    Many thanks again,

    David

    Hello David,

Thanks for bringing this issue to my attention.

I was checking your profile but it appears to be in working order. Since it is a new profile it can be a bit more difficult to get a good steady invitations stream until you have built your stats a bit more, so, although you have done it already, my recommendation is to lower your rates even more since you are just starting with us. As soon as you have around 5 to 10 projects completed, you can bring them up again to your preferred values! Keep in mind the system sends invitations in batches to Pros depending on rates and stats, so as soon as your stats go up, you can bring those rates up as well! Currently, I think they are a bit high for a starting profile.

Let me know if I can help you with anything else!

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

    Daniel

That's really helpful, thanks.  I'll try lowering the rates.

I had an email from you guys saying upload more stuff as there is "high demand" for Scottish Male in several genres.  Not sure if this is true or just marketing... I hope I'm making the grade!

    Cheers,

    David

    Hi David!

    Thanks for the reply!

Regarding the email for samples, those are usually sent when we have a specific client or project that needs more options than the ones the system shows, so our team reaches out and tries to get more samples in order for the client to pick a voice! It is always worth it to upload some extra ones since it will not only give you a good chance at that particular project or client but also increases visibility in future searches.

Let me know if I can help with anything else!

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

    Excellent, Daniel.

    One more thing..:

After lowering my rates (as you suggested, thanks) I received an invitation to a Competition (it was overnight here so I missed it) but I didn't get a text message about it.  Shouldn't I have?

    Thanks again,

    David

    Hi David!

Just as a quick question, was that one sent on the weekend? I ask because our SMS system had issues during the weekend and no alerts were being sent, but now it should be back to normal.

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

    Hi David,

    Thanks for the reply!

I just re-read your previous comment and I made a mistake, sorry! SMS alerts are sent for Bookings and revisions only, contests and speedies don't create them unless Project management sends a specific invitation to a specific Pro.

Still, you should get the normal SMSs now for bookings and/or revisions!

    Kind regards,

    Daniel
