Hello Jenn and thank you so much for reaching out through this space!

I would be more than happy to check your recording and give you some feedback!

To do that, could you please share with me the sample that got rejected? You can upload it to your preferred cloud service and share a public link here.

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

    Hello Daniel,

Thanks for offering to take a listen. I believe i've changed the settings so that they are public but just let me know if you are having trouble accessing the file:

    Hello Jenn,

Thanks for sharing the file, I can access it without any issues!

I was reviewing it and I think you are so close to the desired quality! Let me address some small things one by one:

One of the first things that I could notice are those breath sounds, they are definitely noticeable, and our recommendation is to just edit them out, that will take care of that one right away.

Another minor thing that I heard was a click on top of the word "Stronger", I am a bit curious, do you think that was a mouth click or a clicking sound from your mouse for example? Although it is something very small, I recommend keeping an eye on those sounds since they can definitely cause revisions and rejections from the QC team.

Finally, there seems to be some room echo, it can be heard quite well on top of the words "step by step", although it is not that present in other sections. If you want, you can share some pictures of your recording space so we can give them a look and maybe give you some tips! usually, hard surfaces on your recording space can cause sound reflections and are the culprits of that room echo.

Let me know your thoughts about this feedback, but to be honest I think you almost have it ready to apply again! The fixes should be pretty simple :)

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

    Hello Daniel,

Thank you for taking the time to review my audition. I really appreciate it. All those points are helpful and this will be most useful for me moving ahead. I also had a conversation with a VO coach of mine who is an active member on Bunny Studio and she also gave me the exact same pointers. I did just have a few questions for you if you don't mind:

    1. Would it be possible to change the age group that I stated to "young adult" rather than "teenager"? I realize now that when I stated "teenager" it was more for animation/video games (so a bit more character rather than realistic). Because I have more of an alto voice print, I think "young adult" would suit me much better.

    2. My coach also suggested to look into Izotope plugins for my DAW, this may help with the audio cleanup should I not catch all the minor audio flaws, would you also recommend this? I am quite a serious VO artist and I really want to up my game so it may be a good investment for me moving forward.

    3. Is there a possibility that I may re-submit my audition to be a pro if I am able to meet the requirements you've stated from above?

Thank you Daniel for your time, help and consideration,

    Cheers,

    Jenn

    Hello Jenn!

It is wonderful that you have a coach that can help you as well! It is very important to have multiple points of vie and ears checking out your recordings :)

Regarding your questions, let me address them in order:

    1. To do this, the best approach is to actually close the account (we do that from our end) and create a new one with the new correct attributes.

    2. Yes! I definitely recommend them, I use them when I do post-production to clean up voices and they are great! I recommend not going for the full voice package since it can be a bit expensive and the plug-in versions are great, one of my go-to plugins is the RX-Vocal De-noise. You can keep an eye on the website since they do sales every now and then, and you might get a great deal on a whole package!

    3. You can definitely do that! Just send us an email to support@bunnystudio.com, we can help you start the application process again (usually the faster way to do so is to delete the account and create a new one, so that would take care of point 1 as well!), I might even take your case myself when you send the email, so feel free to do so when you feel you are ready :)

Let me know if I can help with anything else!

    Kind regards,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

Thanks once again for your feedback, yes, I do plan to cancel my account and then re-apply, this time with the correct attributes for my age range. I really appreciate the second chance. I want to make sure that everything is ready to go for my next application, I was planning on purchasing this software for audio cleanup, do you think this would be a good investment? (I actually need to spend some money on my business so I don't get nabbed at tax season): https://www.izotope.com/en/shop/rx-8-elements.html

Anyways, your suggestions on this software would be highly appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Jenn

    Hello Jenn,

RX is one of the best tools to clean up audio! I definitely recommend them, although you might have better luck trying to find the Elements suite discounted, which includes other tools as well! I remember that some time ago I managed to get that bundle for around 80USD from Sweetwater, so I definitely recommend keeping an eye for those deals, since you can save a bit there :)

But yes, it is a great tool, and I personally recommend it a lot! It is worth taking some time to see some tutorials and learn how to use it properly, actually, whenever you have some time, checking reviews on youtube could be nice since you could see it in action!

    Kind regards,

    Hello Daniel,

Thank you for the suggestion on connecting with Sweetwater, I've bought most of the VO equipment from them. Today I purchased iZotopes RX Elements package...after reviewing some tutorials and overviews of the product (and from what i've heard about the software through yourself, my instructors and other audio engineers I thought it would be a good investment).

Once I get it all installed and figured out, I will return to Bunny Studio and reapply with my application. I will update you when I'm ready to get started!

Thank you for all the help thus far!

    Cheers,

    Hi Daniel,

Thank you! Yes, I have all the new tools now for audio editing with RX8 iZotope Standard so I think i should be ready to go :) I was just going through my page and I was having some trouble with how to delete my account so that I can start fresh, would you be able to help direct me in how to do that?

    Thanks Daniel,

    Cheers

    Hi Daniel,

I just wanted to let you know that i've re-applied to be a pro voice artist on Bunny Studio and I did my audition. I had a few people listen to the recording which helped a lot. I was also able to edit with iZotope8 so hopefully it does the job, if not, I am willing to make further adjustments and try again.

Anyways, you have been very helpful during this process Daniel,

    Cheers,

    Jenn

    Hi Daniel,

Thank you for the well wishes on my application. Well, I submitted and I got a couple of revisions. #1 is taking down the room echo and #2 the file is over-processed.

I was wondering, if you have a moment, could you take a listen to my audition to let me know what you think?

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fdpQF6AszQ949pZhXms2cwHx7qLZepex/view?usp=sharing

Do you think it might be worth me re-recording the file with a heavy blanket over my head and mic? Or should I perhaps just go back to the RAW file and not add too many clean up tools to the file? Too be honest, I think re-recording with a heavy blanket over my head and mic might help with the acoustic treatment...

Anyways, thanks Daniel for your help!

    Hello Jenn

To be honest, it sounds pretty good to me! But since an agent considered it to have some room echo and maybe being too processed, you can give those fixes a try, the blanket should help with any remaining reflections and the softer processing should help as well! If you can, please try to send it over in the next 2 hours so I can personally give it a look through the platform application itself.

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

    Hello Daniel!

I just wanted to say I got accepted into Bunny Studio ! Thank you for all your help. Now I will have to create some samples for my page, I will begin doing so soon. Currently, I am in a full time voice acting program which has been quite intense so my time right now is a bit tight but I am very excited to start auditioning on Bunny Studio. Just a quick question, in order to start auditioning, I assume its important to have a few different samples up on my page so that clients can listen to my range?

    Thank you once again!

    Cheers

    Hello Jenn,

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you, and thanks again for being open, listening to feedback, and having that amazing attitude towards personal improvement! This is what leads people to success :)

Regarding your question, it is the best way to become visible on the platform! It gives you visibility when clients search for voices, so samples are the key to landing bookings. My recommendation is to have a good range of samples that goes through all the categories we have (you could even take an afternoon on a weekend and record multiple samples for each category!) and also, and this is very important, tagging them. Tagging those samples associates keywords with them that clients might use when they search for voices, and in turn, gives you a better chance at appearing as one of the first results!

Let me know if you have any other questions, and congratulations again!

    Kind regards,

    Daniel
