New Issue With Boxiness
Hello! In the past couple of weeks I've gotten a couple of rejections for "boxiness" that I'm a little confused about. My set-up has been the same for the past few months (foam on the walls of my closet, isolation shield, pop filter) and it hasn't been an issue until recently. My recording volume has stayed the same as well. I would appreciate advice on what might be causing this issue! Thanks in advance.

Hello Christine!
Thank you so much for reaching out here!
I was checking both of your samples and they do sound very similar, so there is no worry about consistency on your part!
I think that the QC agent that reviewed that project might have picked up some sound reflections that are present in your recordings (they appear on both of them), although they are very subtle. Would you be so kind to share with me the rejected project so I can share it with the team and see if we can ignore it from your stats?
Kind regards,
Daniel
Absolutely, the link is below. Thanks for the prompt response!

Ok sorry to continue this but....it happened again! No revision, just a straight up rejection for boxiness, and nothing has changed about my setup or the way I record. I'd really like to fix this issue but I have no idea what to change!

Hello Christine,
Thanks for the info about both projects!
After careful consideration, we decided to ignore them from your stats so they do not affect you.
Also, although I think your setup sounds nice, you could improve it a bit by trying to cover any hard surfaces with thick materials (like blankets or towels) that can help you get rid of those small near-field reflections that are the culprits of those revisions/rejections. If you want, you could upload here a picture of your recording space so I can check out what might be causing those small reflections and give you some tips! I don't think personally that it is completely necessary, but it could benefit you if you are up for it!
Kind regards,
Daniel
I think I have an idea of what places could be in need of more foam/blankets. Will adjust and may follow up if that doesn't work. Thanks so much for your support, it's been great to have someone to touch base with about this!
You are welcome Christine!
Just let me know if you have anything else that you would like me to check.
I hope that you have a great day!
Kind regards,
Daniel
