    Hello Art,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I will be more than happy to check your recording and give you some feedback :)

Could you share with me the sample that got that comment? You can upload it to your preferred cloud service and share a public link here with us to review it.

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

Thanks Daniel.  Appreciate it. Trying to get established here and don't get the feedback.

Ok.  Gonna record and submit a third time and we'll see.  Still not sure why they thought I had an amateur mic.

    Hello Art,

Sorry for the delay, sometimes it can take me 1-2 days to reply to posts here since I also address Pro requests sent to our support email.

I just checked the file and I think the biggest problem and the rejection reason is related to the acoustics of the space you are recording in, and not to the equipment itself. The recording sounds a little bit boxy, meaning that you are having near-field reflections that the mic is picking up (especially since as you know, condenser mics are more sensitive than dynamic mics), this phenomenon could have given the QC agent that feeling of "unprofessional equipment", but is definitely related to acoustics. Could you maybe share some pictures of your recording space? I could check them out and see what surfaces might be causing those reflections.

Also, I would like to share an article from us that addresses this:

Let me know your thoughts and if you are up to review the recording space, send me some pictures here as well!

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

    Hi Art,

    Thanks for sharing those pictures!

The issue is that, since you have a good mic that is pretty sensitive, that screen can only reduce reflections up to a point. The rest of your space will still generate reflections (for example the table, the shelves) and the mic can pick them up. We could try a couple of things, maybe covering the top of the mic with a blanket or towel could help, also, filling those shelves with some pillows, for example, could help with that section of the room, and finally, the table with the computer could be moved further from the mic. You can give those fixes a try and share a new file with us to see how it goes! It is usually hard to identify everything that might be causing reflections on a room without being there, but those are my first ideas on how to improve it.

    Kind regards,

    Daniel
