old demo review
Hi ! I am a member of bunny studio since less than a year . Recently I keep getting messages that demo that I have uploaded 8months ago are now not good enough, to much compression or too much sibilance things like that. Keep in mind here that they are demos... We sometimes have to use the final mix from the studio or the agency as a demo cause we don't own the voice over track to do mix specially for this website and those mixes do not fulfill your requirement, web mix are set at -14lufs , radio mix -10lufs even televison in canada is -24lufs with -2db tp ... and often has a lot of compression. So for these we have to lower the loundess, adjust true peak level and export ( more a time travel to the past ) at 44.1 and 16 bit. Can you guys please tell me which room ,which speaker and which plug in you use to evaluate our demos? I am a sound egineer since 15 years, my mixes has been accepted for all kind of system, tv radio web cinema name it... and now someone somewhere says that my demos do not fulfill requirement to be a demo ? Really? By example, I have a demo that gave me 12 booking and now I am suppose to remove it from the website... at least if your comments could help us instead of harm us. Please help me understand your system cause I will soon be running out of demo with no time to record some specifically for your website...

Hi Jean!!
Thanks a lot for reaching out :).
First of all I understand it can get frustrating if our samples, specially those ones that have gave us bookings in the past, get this message you are talking about.
Please keep in mind that we try to keep things up to the best quality and that means our QC team regularly updates the sample pool. That's why you might be getting these messages in regards these samples. We usually listen to this samples through a professional sound card (perhaps UAD) and headphones (in my case Shure 1840).
In order to give you my perspective and detailed feedback, would you mind sharing some of those samples on this thread so I can give you my thoughts about it?
Let me know what you think!
Hope you have an amazing week.
Gabriel
Grat! Hi Gabriel! Thanks for your answer, shure 1840 is part of the issue here... have you ever looked at the frequency response of them? I think we have our answer just with this detail ;) So if a voice over has just a bit too much of brightness you will here sibilance issue... And of course we should keep in mind that we are talking about demos here ;) I work with senheiser HD300 through Sonarworks calibration system for headphone to make sure my curve si more accurate. I really think this system should be use to evaluate sound quality of files on your website. Here is one of the demo : https://fromsmash.com/demo-sibilance. The demo I have uploaded is the demo I have downloaded from bunny, I checked it with izotope tonal balance to make sure my ears are still good ;) I joined the picture of the plug in so you can see the average frequency response of the file . The target ( green part ) of the plug in is Bus Dialogue provided by Izotope, the white line is the frequency response of my demo.

Hello Jean!
Thanks for getting back to us :).
I agree that the Shure has this frequency response, however, that does not mean that all the QC team is listening through this headphones. We usually monitor through the Sony MDR-7506, a standard headphone from the industry. The Shure it is strictly for my personal case. It is also important to take into account that the QC agent that was requesting the removal of the sample might be someone different than me.
Clarified the above and most importantly to give you a detailed feedback on the sample you are mentioning, I was going to listen to your audio but the link you attached shows me the following error:
'Error 404 - This means you are looking for a page that doesn't exist on our site. Sorry about that.'
Please let me know once the link is working again so I can give you my personal opinion whether the request of removal is justified or if maybe is a mistake from our side :).
Have an amazing day,
Gabriel
Great ! Stick to your headphone!! 7506 are worst in the frequency we are talking here ;)
sorry for the link , it's good only 7days .. https://we.tl/t-VaLyS94HkV this one too is only 7 days, let's hope you have time before it expires! ;)
for qc I think your team should consider beyer dynamics 770 250 ohms pro but always with sonarworks. It's kind hard to evaluate audio quality with those colored headphones..
Hello Jean!
Thanks for the link!
I'm downloading the sample in order to give it a listen and share it with the rest of the QC team :). In the meantime, while I get back to you, is it possible for you to share the link of the sample that was rejected?
Thanks and hope you have an amazing week.
Best regards,
Gabriel
The sample in the link is a sample that was okay last year and rejected this year
Hello Jean,
Yes I totally get that and excuse me if I didn't explain myself correctly. I was referring to the link of this sample inside the platform, maybe do you have the link that shows us the sample in the platform?
Let me know and apologize for the misunderstanding.
Gabriel
Sorry I had to remove it from my profile as you asked, I downloaded it before and the file in my link is the file I have downloaded from bunny studio website
Hello Jean, thanks for your reply.
Hope you are having an amazing week so far.
Taking into account that this sample has generated you bookings as you mentioned, we've decided with the team that it is okay if you upload it again to your profile :).
Please let me know if you have any thoughts about it.
Kind regards,
Gabriel
