How to augment my recordings to pass your standards?

    Hi Rafal,

Thank you for reaching out to the community!

Before anything else, could you send us a sample of your recording so we can better assess the quality?

Regarding the room echo, we suggest using professional headphones when monitoring your recordings. This way, you'll hear the little issues in your audio which you can then troubleshoot and improve on.

We also highly suggest the use of XLR microphones. USB microphones tend to have a higher noise floor and are more prone to buzz due to too much gain in the mic signal.

    Best,
    Hiroshi

    Thank you for your reply.

I am using a USB mic, alas. A Blue Yeti, to be precise. And so far, I've never had any complaints. I understand that your standards are higher - but I'm not sure I'd be able to pick up individual flaws. I'd prefer to know if I could use a single augmenting tool/function in Audacity, which would ensure that my material will be approved by you quality-wise.

One of my recordings can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TM0HxNgOvhc&t=36s

    I can't enclose any mp3 files here, I'm afraid :/

    Regards, Rafal

    Hello Rafal,

Your voice and the delivery sound great! Unfortunately, we normally do not accept recordings that are recorded with USB microphones. We highly suggest the use of XLR microphones through an audio interface.

Regarding the room echo/quality issue, sadly, there is no one plugin/tool in Audacity that can fix all the quality issues as of now. However, you can find tips on acoustic treatment on our community page: https://bit.ly/2MrNsSV.
