Sample Feedback and Amendment Request
Hi,
I've been asked to post some samples here for feedback. I'm a new bunny pro and I have two rejections on my stats that I'm hoping to have removed once I can prove the quality of my audio has improved. One file was rejected for mouth clicks and low audio, the other was the first project I submitted and it was rejected for room echo, which hasn’t been an issue since.

Could you please listen to the samples in the below folder and let me know if you think these issues have been resolved? If so, would it be possible to have the rejections removed from my stats while I build up a reputation within the system?

Hi Sarah, thanks for reaching out!
In the files you sent, the volume is fine and there is no room echo, however there is an effect known as "boxiness." It seems like you are recording in a very small space, and the sound reflections can be heard. If you'd like, you can share a photo of your studio so we can provide better advice.
Regarding the mouth clicks, they are more noticeable in the "AUDIOBOOK SAMPLE" audio. Here are some tips to improve it. Additionally, you can use audio software to remove the clicks with the "de-clicker" function. I know Adobe Audition has this feature, and there is also a program called "RX by Izotope. I hope this information is helpful to you.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Regards,
Steven.
Hi Steven,
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I’ve had a look through the tips for reducing mouth noise, all very useful so thank you for sharing! I’ll implement those moving forward.
Just a quick question around post production, I was under the impression from the quality control standards that no noise reduction or processing was allowed, is that not the case? I’ve been trying to achieve perfect audio without using anything in post.
I am recording in a very small space, unfortunately it’s not possible for me to move to a bigger room just yet but I will as soon as I’m able to. In the meantime, here are some images of the space I’m using: https://we.tl/t-qO6N3n1Bu3
I’ve used acoustic foam on all the walls but there are a few gaps which I’ve covered with cushions. I’ve also hung a thick duvet from the ceiling but would it be worth me investing in more acoustic foam to cover the ceiling and door frames?
Many thanks for your advice and support,
Sarah
Hi Steven,
I hope you're well!
Could you please have a listen to the sample in this folder and let me know if you think I've resolved the issues of boxiness and mouth clicks? If so, could you please arrange for the rejections to be removed from my stats - I've not received any speedy invites, or any invites at all really, since my stats updated and I'd love to get back to work!

Hi Sara!
I've been listening to your audio and looking at your photos. Regarding the clicks, I still heard a loud click at the end of the word "working." It's true that Bunny prefers completely clean audio, but in this case, if you can remove the clicks through post-production, it would be beneficial so that we can accept your work.
As for the boxiness, it's still noticeable. The issue is that in such a small space, it's very challenging to eliminate that effect. The acoustic treatment you have works well for absorbing high frequencies, but it doesn't absorb the mid and low frequencies very well. Consequently, those frequencies bounce freely and create that effect. The only recommendation I can give you is to place the microphone in the center of the booth and record as close as possible. However, it's very difficult for it to disappear completely.
Hope this can help you.
Regards,
Steven!
Hi Steven,
I've made some amendments, could you please have a listen to this sample and offer some feedback?
Many thanks,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
Unfortunately, the mouth clicks are still being heard. Could you tell me how you're managing to remove the clicks? Which audio editor are you using to help you find a way to edit the clicks?
Best regards,
Steven.
Hi Steven,
Thanks so much for getting back to me.
I'm using Presonus Studio One as my editing software and I'm trying to eliminate them at source by recording further from the mic (but not so far as to introduce boxiness again). The plug-in you suggested before is quite expensive so I was trying to remove the mouth clicks using Studio One before outlaying more money. If it's still a big problem then I'll have to invest in the plug-in but could you have a listen to the new sample in this Google Drive first and let me know if you think it's improved it at all? https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1kK7lAYhlzEhrUmYhdOjVwSoEgrgHc0Kb?usp=sharing
The new sample is labelled "Arrow Bunny EQ".
Thanks so much for your help!
Sarah
Hi Sarah.
I oppened the link but there are two empty videos, could you please check?
I found this video to manually remove clicks in Studio One: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMjBye-8Kgw
I also found this video to remove clicks using Audacity (Free DAW) and a free plugin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kU3IyE0QP8
I recommend not moving away from the microphone because it will immediately start increasing the boxiness.
I look forward to your comments.
Steven!
I'm so sorry, I must have sent the wrong link, it's this one:

I'm also in the process of having my microphone repaired and a new XLR cable is on it's way to me which I hope will make a difference to the quality as well.
Thanks again,
Sarah
