    Hi Sarah,

This is Julian from the Bunny QC team. First of all, we’re glad you take the time to write to our pro community, we’re more than happy to help our pros in all their doubts and questions, and in they help them through get the top-notch quality our clients aim for.

I've just heard the latest samples you have uploaded and I found that there's no evident 'room echo' or 'boxiness', they sound pretty descent. However, there's only one issue present on both samples, plosives/excess of low frequencies. You can sort this problem doing the following:

    1. If there are loud plosives in your recording that affect the quality of the deliverable, The best way to prevent this is by using a professional pop-filter and recording at an appropriate distance from the mic.
    2. If you already have a proper Pop-filter for your mic, please use a High-pass filter on 130Hz, in order to get rid of all unnecessary low frequency content that is affecting your recordings. Most of all audio softwares have a native EQ processor, so I believe this wouldn't be a problem to find one in the software you use.

I hope this advices will solve this issue. As I said, your quality is pretty good, so as soon as you solve this problem I consider you will get most of your works approved. If you got another question or doubt, do not hesitate to reach through this same thread. Thanks for your time and attention.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Julian,

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and for this great advice, I really appreciate it!

I'm using a Rode NT1A microphone and pop filter but I'm recording in a very small space. I was advised to record a little closer to the mic to combat "boxiness" that was picked up in my recordings but this obviously brings in the issue of plosives. I can definitely record a little further away from the mic to try and eliminate them at source. I've also had a go at adding a filter to the Arrow recording from my samples and I wonder if you'd have a quick listen for me and see if you think it's improved the quality?

The new sample is in the same Google Drive folder and labelled "Arrow Bunny Sample EQ":

I've also been speaking to Steven on another thread, he picked up on the boxiness, and I know he's taking my case to the meeting this Thursday. I'll send him the same sample, I'd really appreciate any ideas you all have for improving the quality.

Thanks again for your time and help,

    Sarah

    Hi Sarah!

Just passing by to give you an update! Our colleagues and I have deliberated in the past meeting that from now on we will accept your submissions since your work has the necessary quality to be approved by our clients.

On the other hand, I suggest you use a High-pass filter on 130Hz to get rid of all unnecessary low-frequency content affecting your recordings. Most of all audio software has a native EQ processor, so I believe this wouldn't be a problem to find one in the software you use.

If you got another question or doubt, do not hesitate to reach out through this same thread. Thanks for your time and attention.

    Hi Julian,

    That’s great news, thank you!

Yes, I’ll definitely use a high pass filter, thank you for the recommendation, it’s worked really well. My equipment is being repaired at the minute, I should get it back next week, and I hope that will improve the sound a little further.

Thanks again for all your help!

    Sarah
