Is VoiceBunny Sexist?
I have a male friend who is also a voice actor with VoiceBunny and he gets many more Speedy projects and castings offered to him, mostly news reads, than I as a female have received. A lot of those news reads he gets are for female driven companies as well. I don't understand why he is getting so many more of these than us females. He is earning 3-4 times more than I do and we started at the same time, I even have better stats for castings. I realize the client dictates the male/female choice, but can't VoiceBunny push a little harder for female news reads and such?

It's up to the client to decide if they want to hire a male or a female. It seems that the voice over industry as a whole tends to favor males. In fact, we recently posted this blog about the issue: http://voicebunny.com/blog/2015/02/04/arent-hearing-female-voiceovers-heres-research-says/
As a female in the VO industry myself, I feel your pain.
I'm looking for a mature sounding native midsouth or texas female for my IVR. My preference is all about having an authentic voice my customer base will relate to.
Doesn't mean I'm necessarily a sexist, ageist, regionalist or xenophobic (even though I may be all of the above).
However if you are a well spoken older lady from Mississippi or Fort Worth I'd love to listen to your telephone voice.
