Multiple Takes
Once booked for a job, I find it awkward that there's no channel of communication between the voice talent and the client. I can understand Voice Bunny not wanting there to be a dialogue about money, but communicating to clarify the client's needs would be very helpful.
Short of this, the ability to submit more than one take, or submit a demo with different takes for the client to choose from, would do the trick.
In my case, the client wanted something very specific - and subjective - in my tone/style, and submitting one full take at a time, then waiting for the feedback process, was both time-consuming and more costly. If I could have at least submitted a few variations on a portion of the script before getting the green light from the client, the project would have gone much faster and Voice Bunny would have retained more money by not paying for revisions.

You're right and that's why we're releasing a communication system for talents and voice actors very soon! Stay tuned!
I don't know if commenting here bumps the topic to the top, but I would also really like the ability to submit more than one take or demo with multiple takes (if communication between talent and client is blocked).
Sometimes the client just doesn't know what they want. They include a sample that is completely the opposite of what they are looking for. If I were able to submit multiple takes, it would save everyone time and money.
I understand that it's possible to submit these things through VB support, but that just adds more time and complexity to the process. The client may listen to the version that was posted through the site and then Reject it because they didn't hear the options over email. Anyhow, please allow optional multiple takes or direct communication between clients and talents.
Hi Melissa
Thanks for the idea!
Keep in mind that you are totally free to provide multiple takes in one file. As long as said takes include the full script and are separated by around 2 - 5 seconds of silence between each other, our team will not reject your file! Just make sure both takes match our quality standards and can be easily identifiable by our client when listening to the file.
Also, if you receive a long project, you can always send a sample via email of the project so we can review if it's what we and our client are looking for. This way, you don't have to record a very long project only to get it bounced back to re-record because a quality issue or a tone mismatch!
Hope this helps!
Hi Angela,
Thanks for the response. I've been afraid to send multiple takes in a single file because the upload instructions clearly state "a single take" and many clients don't have the technical capabilities to separate out the take that they prefer. So sending multiple takes in one file would be risky because there might be a QA person who wants to reject it and a non-technical client would automatically request a revision.
As for today's voice over, I uploaded one take through the system and send another to Support to send to the client. I hope Support gets the file to the client quickly so that the client is aware of both options by the time the uploaded file is being reviewed (these are the things I worry about :) ).
Thanks,
Melissa
Thanks for letting us know, Melissa!
Indeed, if our client needs just one, they will more likely ask you to separate the file via a revision. However, client revisions do not impact your stats so I wouldn't worry too much. For projects where the client says they need just one take, let's provide one take only. If contrary to that, the client doesn't indicate a number of takes, you can provide one or more if you prefer.
I will, anyway, share the comment so we can also open the conversation there. I do agree it would be a good feature to have for you!
