I keep getting casting e-mails, but jobs are always already closed. A suggestion!
I keep getting e-mails alerting me to closed jobs. I usually check the jobs within a few minutes of getting the notices, but I'm always too late. As this marketplace scales, this isn't sustainable: quality talent will leave out of frustration.
Here's my suggestion. What if a casting e-mail was a reservation of sorts? I get, say, 10 minutes to accept a casting opportunity. If I miss the opportunity, someone else gets the e-mail.
I'd see fewer casting opportunities this way, but that would be better than constantly receiving casting notices for jobs that are closed by the time I get to them.

VoiceBunny already works that way in a sense. The best matches for the jobs are invited first (based on stats and project requirements). It does wait for a period of time (based on the project deadline) for someone from the first group of talents to accept it. If no one does, the system then keeps inviting talents systematically until the job is fulfilled. It would just take too long to invite talents one-by-one, so it sends the emails out in batches.
Pretty lame system. I've been a member 6 years and have NEVER gotten to submit an audition for any project. If I receive an email alert for a job at 6:00pm I can sign-in at 6:01 and it's closed out. Voices.com has some issues but overall is the best of all the Pay to Play systems.
