    Hi Cat,

Those deadlines are set by the client themselves. We do warn them multiple times that they should allow as much time as possible or they risk losing quality and to take into account time zones. Unfortunately, if we cannot convince the client to extend their deadline, situations like this will occur.

I will do some investigating to see if these short deadlines from clients are resulting in rejected reads or cancelled projects. If so, then we can make an informed decision on what options clients have when selecting deadlines. Thank you!

I have also brought up the same concern about this challenge, also noting that this appears to be change in the system from late Nov. 2014. Suddenly, instead of having a time frame similar to bookings to complete a job, you have about 5 hours. This has lead to quite a few missed deadlines due to other engagements ( like work or sleep). So really it seems that this is an arbitrary number put up since there is no strict time limit for the client to respond to the auditions. And clients are worldwide and operate from different time zones. So....Who puts up the number? That is unknown to us actors, but the answer of the client sets it and that's that doesn't seem to jibe with the way things really work. For example:
Casting/Contest goes out for 3 auditions.

All auditions are completed within 3 hours.
Now it goes to the client. Some clients have responded within an hours. Some have taken a week or more.
When there was a day or so for the winning actor to finish the job. You would still get it done as quickly as possible.
I have had 3 different challenges to this arbitrary time limit.
1, I think I would be safe to say that most, if not all voice actors on VoiceBunny are not living solely on the proceeds from this site. Therefore, we work at other occupations. If I am at work and receive notification of winning, I may have most of a regular job to do before I can get home and complete the one I won.

    2. I have received notification of winning a job at just after midnight local time. The job expired by 6am How is that fair????
    3. You have a family commitment that will take all day. Doesn't matter what it is. Most of us make it a point to ensure that we can get the job done in a timely manner, generally less than 24 hours. Many times we do monumental things to ensure the job gets done.
And one other thing, job length. If it is a long read, it should have more time. You hate to get a big one and time out based on some random limitation.
So, one more time (and in a more public forum) please go back to the way it was before last November. We can accommodate the client and have a bit of a buffer if we have about 12-24 hours.
