Was rejected, then specially selected?

So, I'm a bit confused. I participated in this contest:

I auditioned the day the contest became available, making sure to sound like a punk, tough 18-year old that's been pushed around by the world, then was asked to revise my audition, asked to sound "more tough". So I put more "punk-ass" toughness into it, and felt like the audition was what I would expect to hear from a post-apocalyptic, Fallout-type game. It was rejected, saying I wasn't the right fit for the part.

The next day, they still were struggling to get contestants, so someone from VoiceBunny personally reached out to me and asked me to audition. But I already had, and had been rejected. :\ I was also a bit confused, because one of the accepted auditions sounded much older than 18, but I wasn't the right fit?

I dunno, I guess most rejections I can let roll off of me, but this one really bothered me. I feel like someone in the VB QA team must just hate my voice or something, haha. But someone else likes my voice enough to reach out to me to ask me to audition. I dunno. Did I just sound... soft or something? I thought I sounded pretty punk/tough for an 18-year old girl.

Sorry this is so wordy. :) I'd just like some more personalized feedback with someone who has listened to my audition.
