BUZZ SOUND
My application to Voice Bunny has been rejected due to a buzz sound ("estatica de fondo" in Spanish) in the recording.
Can you tell me how I can correct it, so as to try again?
Thanks in advance.

I'm another talent, and here are my ideas.
First, check your tool chain. Sometimes a buzz develops if the mic cable is too close to other electrical equipment. So maybe try to isolate the various components (mic, mic cable, interface, usb cable, computer, and so on). Also, it's possible there is a lose connection or inferior quality for a piece of equipment or cable. Try borrowing or buying different bits and reconfigure your recording set up.
Second, from an editing perspective, if the buzz is a consistent sound, you may be able to remove it using filters. I use Abode Audition. With that DAW, you can capture a "Noise print" (by highlighting 4 or 5 seconds of just the record buzz, with no voice) and then remove the noise from the entire recording. Possibly, other DAWs have similar tools.
Finally, look for other non-recording equipment (A/C, fluorescent lights, weed whackers ... ) that may be getting recorded in your sessions.
Hope these ideas help! Let me know what you find :) -- Cat
If you could post a clip of the audio to Soundcloud or something similar and let people hear it, it would be most helpful. It is very hard to properly describe a sound. At least with hearing it we may be able to get a good idea as to its' source, either part of your audio chain or an outside source
Thanks, Cat..
In that recording I had "removed" all the noise with the software filters, but if I amplify the pauses again -up to 50db i.e- there is noise similar to a frog there. No doubts there was some static, as Voice Bunny argues.
I guess I simply forgot to to turn off a bluetooth loadspeaker I have; but -as you say-, I should pay attention to turn off ALL electrical appliances including the fridge, why not.
In subsequent recordings I made the noise was not there any more.
Anyway, how can I include a clip of that audio in this thread, as Mark is asking below? I don´t find any attachment button here.
I´m doing my first trials with this equipment, so I´ll let you know everything of course!
Thanks so much to you two both for your kindness.

Hmmm. Sounds like you may have figured out your issue which is great news! As for attaching clips, as I recollect I've been able to attach clips to my initial posting on this board, but I certainly don't see a way to attach anything in these replies! So, I'd recommend that you use soundcloud.com or dropox.com. Both sites offer a free way for you to upload files (like mp3 files) and then share teh link to your file. You could post that here and we could click on it and listen. Give that a shot! -- Cat
Thanks again, Cat.
The recording corresponds to the Voice Bunny application, so it says that brand.
Can I upload it into Sound Cloud so as to show it to you?, or does it infringe the site´s rights?
RAUL
Raul, The VB staff may have to chime in here, but I think for the purposes of refining your craft and getting your recording quality to VB standards, you have to submit your recordings. Since we can't link directly, many of us attach links to dropbox and soundcloud in this forum. You can't sell work done on Voicebunny to other clients, and you shouldn't use it directly in your portofilio or demos. But for debugging purposes, post it and let us (or VB) help. Then you can delete from soundcloud or dropbox. Make sense? If you're really not comfortable or want official confirmation, go ahead and attach the file directly to a support ticket and let VB work with you directly. Both options are perfectly good! -- Cat
Hi, Cat.
I´ve sent this thread complete to the VO staff so they can send me their official confirmation whether I can upload that file or not.
Anyway, I guess the initial issue (static noise) is solved. Probably I should send a new application with a new file then.
I´m doing my greatest effort in improving my sound chain since I guess there would not be a third chance according to VB´s policies; or am I wrong?
Thanks again for your kindness.
RAUL
For sure, resubmit your application to VB with a nice, clean recording :) I don't know the official policy, but, if you're getting better and better (as opposed to worse or no improvement), it's in their interest to consider your application, I'd say :) Good luck! -- Cat
Thanks, Cat, for your help!
I´m sending to you my invitation through Linkedin right now.
RAUL
Cool, Raul! I'll be glad to link with you, so we can learn from each other. I'm just a lowly bunny talent here on VB, not part of Mr Bunny's entourage. To reach them directly (in case that was your intent), you'll need to create a support ticket or start a chat with them on the main VB site, before you sign in. I look forward to visiting with you more! -- Cat
Thanks again, Cat, and sorry for the tardiness; but I´m still working on another activity before paving the way into VO.
No matter you don´t belong to the Voice Bunny entourage! In your first answer reads "Official Answer", but you´re helping me a lot anyway.
I´m making some final arrangements to the sound proofing of my home studio, but think I´m quite near of getting it.
I´ll try sending to you my first demos using that soundproofing if you agree; and I´d love to know your opinion!
I´ll probably have to send them via the cloud, (which I´m not still very used to), since Linkedin doesn´t allow to attach files as far as I know.
Neither I have your email address. But you´ll have that material these days for sure.
I prefer to have some reliable opinions about my demos before creating a new ticket and Application on Voice Bunny.
Thanks again.
