Sooo...... Backup Contests?!?!
Wow, looks like a great idea to be proactive for the client, putting out a no-cost contest in case a voice actor can't get their booking done in time.
A couple of questions though, as the details are not there from our side of things.
1. What is the normal time frame for completing a booking? I thought it was something like 72 hours. Is it different?
2. At what point will the backup contests be put in motion? Will it be at the 24, 36, or 48 hour mark? If it is too short, we shouldn't penalize the voice actor for the specific job or make him more vulnerable to losing a client.
3. Granted this is a way to A) spur the original voice actor into getting the job done B) give others an opportunity to have more work and C) give the client great customer service and more options, But, how about a little email notice or notice in the help/how-to section?
4 As with most competitive things, it is best if the original voice actor gets right on the job or he may loose the booking and the client. Is this going to apply to any other types of jobs? (most aren't conducive to the timing of a contest, but you never know!)
Anyway, interesting feature. We'll have to see how it works out.

Thanks for your questions Mark! Here are the answers to them
It's dynamic. They are no longer static. Also, bookings don't expire any longer. We share with clients the average time it takes each talent to record a booking. If the talent is taking longer to complete the project, we'll run a backup contest in case the talent can't record. Of course, we prioritize the talent that was originally booked.
The voice actor is not penalized. We could run the backup contest and the talent could submit the recording for the booking in the meantime. One process doesn't replace the other. It's just a back-up. As for how soon it's triggered, it depends on the average speed of each voice actor. The time it's triggered can be different per talent.
This a very good question. The ultime goal is to fast track production management processes. When a booked talent didn't appear, we run a contest and shared additional samples with the client. We are automating that process in order to offer clients a better and faster experience. VoiceBunny covers the costs of the extra production.
This only applies for bookings. But, as mentioned in point 2., the backup contest doesn't replace the booking. It's a parallel process.
