Availability Question
I have a hypothetical, that might become a reality for me this weekend.
I know when we work on jobs, etc.. There's a statement saying something along the lines of, "We expect talent to be available to work on accepted projects within 48 hours."
Well, I did a Speedy job over 4 days ago, and did the last approved revisions (for VB, not the client) over 2 days ago.
As of right now, the client hasn't approved the files yet. I have a speaking engagement this weekend, so I'll be out of town (and set my profile appropriately for).
So what happens if the client takes longer to review the files and say asks for revisions, and I'm out of town now?
If I wasn't going to be out of town, I wouldn't care as much and I'd be happy to work on revisions as needed. But I won't be able to record.
Thanks,
Jeff

Howdy Jeff,
First, be sure to use your vacation responder at the top of your dashboard to let the system know you are unavailable. I also let the production manager on that project know your situation. She said that if the client contacts us, she will let them know you can work on it when you're back and encourage their patience. If for some reason the client decides that they suddenly need it urgently, we will assist them in finding another voice. Don't worry, you are paid for all approved work submitted to us. Thanks for letting us know.
Thanks for the response!
Yep, my vacation responder is set already for when I plan to be out of town. I should be back some time Sunday evening and I'd be happy to work on something if it comes up.
I guess I was sort of asking because of the Stats issue as well, although my first thought is getting the client what they need. I have no issues if they really need the rush and go with someone else. But I'd hate to see my stats take a hit on something like this as well. Especially seeing as I did multiple reads, and multiple revisions to try and get (hopefully) the exact thing they were looking for.
I purposely made my own internal cutoff on doing contests/speedies, etc... right now so that I don't accidentally get something that someone would want finished while I'm away.
And I thought I was pretty safe taking on a Speedy last week to be done before this coming weekend. But it's still outstanding and the weekend is fast approaching. ;-}
Thanks,
Jeff
No worries, Jeff. We'll take care of you. If you take a stats hit, just write to talentsupport@voicebunny.com.
