Bogus revision requests to extend project duration

Has anyone else see an uptick in these since the platform changes? Over the last few weeks, clients have requested revisions in order to extend their approval window.
I understand what they're doing and why. Sometimes their clients are taking longer to approve projects and they want to keep the revision window open a bit longer for some breathing room.
I opened a ticket on one of the projects and was told to just go ahead and upload the original take.
There has to be a better way for a client to extend a project, than asking for a revision where there's no need for a revision. Not only does this take time, (even if you're just uploading the same cut again) but how is this impacting stats?
This client was kind enough to be transparent with their request, but it makes me wonder how many needless revisions are being requested for the same reason.
Thoughts?

It's important to clarify that, under normal circumstances, our system does not allow for an indefinite extended window for projects. However, there are exceptions, and these cases are typically orchestrated with the assistance of our CX team.
Such situations are not common and are arranged to accommodate unique circumstances. Our CX team is always attentive to "out of the ordinary" requests in projects, and they will likely offer the client with the best option for their needs as well. Don't hesitate to reach out to the team, or raise a flag anytime you need assistance dealing with a different or new situation!
