Multiple takes for Speedies?
Just an idea - Speedies ask for a single read, always sub 27 seconds. No problemo!
But, would it be an idea to allow for say, up to 3 takes (as 3 separate uploads) if the artist wants (so, 1 mandatory, but, they can upload say, up to 3, if they're capable of wild vocal variance?).
I recently had a client reject a Speedy because they felt my voice wasn't right. VB actioned the email saying it wasn't my fault etc etc, but actually, listening back, my voice wasn't right. I had given a far too powerful read, when perhaps a softer tone would have been appropriate.
Some clients may have liked the 1970's industrial instructional tone, this client may have preferred my 1990's dad tone. Hindsight is a great thing, but, if I'd been able to upload 3 different reads, the client experience may have been better for them.
From this end, I kinda like VB work, it's quite quick, it's easy, the platform is a dream come true, and always improving. To give 3 takes is very simple this end, and it doesn't involve much more time post editing. I already sit on several takes already, client rejection could be a result of my poor decision making, and them not hearing what else is in the bag.
Best of all, I'd not expect more money for the multiple takes, and for all other VO's it could be optional.
Just thinking!

Hi Gary,
Thank you immensely for your contribution with this feedback, it is actually a great idea!
Of course, clients do have the option to request for more takes when it is necessary - which is specified in the project, if they choose this option! However, we understand that some Pros are interested in sending more takes without the client requesting it, which can potentially reduce revision requests or rejections. =)
We can totally see how this is good for both Clients and Pros! I have sent this idea to our team and they will be evaluating it!
Thanks again for your insights and for your hard work.
Kindest regards, and count on us,
Gabriela Schneider
I just wanted to second that this is a superlative idea. And it's the way practically ALL ad agencies, production houses, or even private clients... anyone hiring VO talent in the non-Bunny part of the industry works. The two Bunny clients requesting 99.9% of all the speedies both have Bunny Studio doing all the post production anyway. So why not have multiple takes to choose from since you're doing the finished VO "in-house" anyway? You and client confer and pick the best one, or have a savvy engineer takes bits from one take and from another and put them together. If *I* can do that myself, certainly a trained audio engineer can. :) This would save you guys thousands in revisions. With the two Spotify clients here requesting almost 100% of the speedies sent out, this would save everyone a world of currently wasted time. Great idea.
