Hello Jules, this is Julian from the Voice-Bunny QC Team.

I hope you're doing well. I've had a chance to review your recent voice recording, and I want to share some technical feedback to help enhance the quality of your future recordings.

Firstly, I've noticed that the overall volume of your recording is a bit low. Ideally, we're aiming for a peak value of around -3 dBFS. To achieve this, you can use a normalization process. Normalization will adjust the gain of the entire recording to bring your loudest peak to the desired level, in this case, -3 dBFS. Most audio editing software have a straightforward normalization feature. You just need to select the option to normalize and set the target peak value to -3 dBFS.

Secondly, your recording exhibits a wide dynamic range, which means there are significant differences between the loudest and softest parts. To make your audio more consistent in volume, I recommend applying medium compression. Compression reduces the dynamic range by lowering the volume of louder sections and sometimes amplifying quieter parts.

In your audio software, look for a compressor effect. You'll want to set a moderate ratio, something like 3:1 or 4:1, to start. Then, adjust the threshold level until you start seeing the compressor reduce the gain on the louder parts of your waveform. Be sure to listen carefully as you adjust, ensuring that your voice remains natural and clear.

Remember, the goal here is to enhance the clarity and consistency of your recording without compromising the natural tone and dynamics of your voice.

I hope this helps, and I'm looking forward to hearing your next recording!

    Best regards,

    Julian

    Dear Juliet,

I hope this message finds you well. I've had the opportunity to thoroughly review your recent voice-over submission, and I must say, I'm impressed by the overall quality of your work. Your performance, tone, and the technical aspects of your recording are commendable. It's clear that you have a strong grasp of the nuances required in professional voice-over work.

There's one specific area I believe could enhance the final output even further. I noticed that the recording seems a bit over-filtered, which might be due to the high-pass filter settings currently being used in your audio processing chain. While the intention to deliver a crisp and clean sound is much appreciated, it's important to maintain the natural warmth and depth of your voice, which can sometimes be lost with excessive filtering.

To address this, I would suggest either removing the high-pass filter you're applying or, if a filter is necessary, opting for a more gentle setting, like a 12 dB/Oct high-pass filter. This adjustment should help retain the natural fullness of your voice while still providing the clarity that a professional recording requires.

Your attention to quality is evident, and with this slight modification, I'm confident that your recordings will be even more impactful. I am looking forward to hearing the adjusted version and am excited about the potential of your future submissions.

Thank you for your dedication and the care you put into your work. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further clarification.

    Best regards,

    Julian
