    Dear Sarah,

I've had the opportunity to review your recent voice-over recording, and I wanted to share some observations and suggestions to enhance the quality of your audio output.

    Observations:

    • Boxiness in Audio Quality: Your recordings exhibit a 'boxy' sound quality, characterized by a noticeable emphasis on lower midrange frequencies. This tends to make the audio sound confined or as if recorded in a small, enclosed space.

    Suggestions for Improvement:

    1. Acoustic Treatment: Consider improving the acoustics of your recording space. Boxiness often occurs due to the reflection of sound in a small room.

      • Use acoustic panels or foam to absorb unnecessary reflections.
      • Pay attention to the placement of these materials, especially on walls and corners where sound reflections are common.
    2. Microphone Placement: Adjust the distance and angle of your microphone.

      • Try moving slightly further from the microphone to reduce the proximity effect.
      • Experiment with different angles to find the sweet spot that captures your voice clearly while minimizing room reflections.
    3. Equalization (EQ) Adjustment: Use EQ to reduce the boxiness.

      • Apply a high-pass filter to cut off lower frequencies that are not essential to your voice.
      • Identify the specific frequency range causing the boxiness (usually between 200-500 Hz) and gently reduce those frequencies.
    4. Invest in a Better Microphone (If Applicable): Sometimes the choice of microphone can contribute to boxiness. A different microphone with a flatter frequency response might help.

I hope this advices can help you to achieve the quality you're aiming for. If there's anything else you need, don't hesitate to write me in this very same thread.

    Kind regards,

    Julian (Voice Bunny QC Team)
