    Hi Amanda,

Start by posting (to this message string) the most current sample recorded from your space so that it may be evaluated.

    Good luck,

    Adam

Is there anyone out there that can listen and tell me what is being heard in my recording? Angela?

    Hi Amanda!

Angela, from the Bunny team here!

So, I was checking the recording and I feel several problems present. First of all, I can indeed pick up a lot of room echo and a bit of hiss noise. I am sure this is 100% caused by your space. It could need some extra treatment or a change in mic's positioning in your space. Can you let us know how you're recording?

Also, I believe you're recording a bit to near to the microphone as there are a lot of plosives and low frequencies present. Try to record a bit farther away from the mic and adjust your pop filter, too!

Thanks for the feedback Angela. I appreciate it. I'll see what I can do to assist with getting a more quiet sound. To answer your question, I record in a room with Owens Corning Acoustic Panels that have been hung. I've also constructed a moving blanket box within the space to get a more quiet sound as well. I'm open to suggestions about anything else I can do. Is there a good mic position that works well that I could possibly try? I am using a Kaotica Eyeball (https://www.kaoticaeyeball.com/) around my microphone to assist with a more quiet sound too.

You mention a hiss. What could be causing that? I am using an Audio Technica 2020 microphone and an Apollo Twin interface. The reviews on both items are superb. I'm concerned that backing up from the microphone will give more of a room sound.

    Hi Amanda

Thank you for letting me know.

Usually, what I recommend is to be around 5 in from your microphone's capsule and try not to locate it in the center of the space. It's better to locate yourself more to one side or to the back and not seeing to the front. I personally stand up diagonally to take advantage of how the material located on the edges works for me. You could also placing a blanket or carpet below you in case the reflections causing the echo are coming from the floor!

You will be able to find much more acoustic guidance online and positionings you can try on different websites. There're a lot of resources with tips on what you can do for your case.

About the equipment, both pieces are great so maybe the noise could be coming from the space as well. Let's try a different positioning and see how it goes!
