The rates that nobody Hates
Hello guys.
I am writing to ask if there is any specific table to know the recurring values, the recurring prices from country to country.
Here in Brazil I usually charge for the amounts related to the number of minutes or seconds, but over time I learned that outside my country the calculation is done by counting words. Then I discovered that 150 words equals approximately one minute.
So I just need to ask the Word program to count the words in my script, and divide by 150, to know how many minutes the script has. Here in Brazil, my minute value is 250.00 Reais (which is equivalent, for today's price, to 76 dollars, or 62 EURO). In this way, I guarantee that my work will provide what it takes to pay rent in my work room and raise my children, put food on the table and live my dream as a filmmaker in a country that does not have the same resources that you have there in Europe or USA.
So I get a bit confused when I do a job that takes a onde minute script and I have to charge lower values than I said above. How to reach a consensus?

At VoiceBunny we believe we should never influence the rates that actors set for their projects. In the end, it is about what you find a fair rate. And with the currency exchanges and the different word count per language, it would make sense for you to decide what would work best for you.
I can suggest you look through our search and book functions to see how other actors like yourself set their rates!

I had a similar reaction when I first stared with VoiceBunny, but when you take into account that you do not have to bill the client, and that you get paid within 30 days of VB approving your work, then it becomes worth it (to me) to charge a somewhat lower rate. But that's just me. I guess you have to ask yourself what it's worth to you to have VB take care of those things for you.
