    Hi Court

Thank you for sharing your case.

I've checked into your request and noticed that our system automatically deactivated your profile because most of your samples have been rejected by our Quality Control team. Our system does this completely automatically to ensure we're only offering the best quality to our clients. In your case, 8 out of your 10 samples have been rejected by the team which caused the immediate deactivation.

This is the list of rejected samples:
    https://voicebunny.com/samples/103292
    https://voicebunny.com/samples/103293
    https://voicebunny.com/samples/103294
    https://voicebunny.com/samples/103295

    https://voicebunny.com/samples/103297
    https://voicebunny.com/samples/103298
    https://voicebunny.com/samples/103530

The issues found in your samples are the following:

    - Over compression.
    - Unbalance between voice and music on processed files.
    - Overall nasal sound

We are always open to reactivate your profile when you have fixed the issues mentioned. For this to happen, we would need you to please share some raw recordings you've recently done and share with us all the details you can about your studio. You can share your equipment, how you record and if you add any processing. This will all help us provide you the information necessary to improve and get reinstated.

You can share the files via Google Drive, Dropbox, Soundcloud or any other hosting services on this same thread and we will be here to help.

Once the quality is up to our standards, we will definitely let you know via the community thread and reactivate your profile instantly. In the meantime, please remove the samples listed above so they don't affect your profile once it's been reactivated.

[I replied to the email on 02/16/18, but I think that went nowhere.  Here are my replies posted again.  Thank you.]

    Hello Angela,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.  I've removed the rejected samples.  I was unaware that there was any rejection and received no notifications.  Most of these items were from my commercial demo.

Currently, I record in a fully sound-treated vocal booth with an Audio-Technica AT2035 cardioid studio condenser microphone powered by a Behringer Xenyx Q802USB premium mixer.  Recording, editing, and processing are completed with Adobe Audition CC.  Processing is kept to a minimum, as most of my work is for eLearning.  The settings for my DAW were customized by a professional engineer for those purposes.

I'd be happy to provide samples of my recent work for your review.  I will share them on here from a hosting service.  Thank you.

    Hello Angela,

Happy Presidents Day!  As promised, attached is a Google Drive link to some recording samples from my home studio.  These are from actual projects delivered to clients in the last few weeks.

I hope they meet your standards and show that I'm serious about working with Mr Bunny in helping provide great voice overs.  If for some reason anything needs to be adjusted please let me know.  I look forward to working with you.

    Hi Court

Thank you for sharing! The audio sounds very filtered and compressed. Are you using a noise reduction plugin? Would you mind sharing 100% raw recordings?

    Hi Angela,

Sure thing.  Please check the folder again.  I added v2 versions to all of the samples.  They are raw recordings.  The only adjustments I made were adding the 0.5 sec of silence at either end and normalizing to -3dB.

Please let me know if that format works and if that's how you'd like me to make submissions on Voice Bunny.  Thanks for your assistance in helping get the recordings you want.

    Hi Court!

Thanks for sharing the raw recordings. This way it's much easier for me to pinpoint the problem areas and help you solve them. At VoiceBunny, we prefer for you to provide raw yet clean recordings without the need of extra processing to give our clients the necessary headroom for them to process any edits they require.

So, the first thing I notice in your recording is a very high level of hiss. This is more likely being produced by your mixer. Keep in mind that these type of Behringer mixers are designed for live applications and don't have the high fidelity preamplifiers that are needed for in-studio recording. These type of small, cheap mixers are more used for rehearsal rooms and or the recording of scratch takes. However, when it comes to in-studio professional recordings, there is a need of a higher fidelity and lower noise to signal ratio.

Also, I can pick up the voice to sound quite boomy, a bit sibilant and with a lot of mouth noises and some plosives. This is more likely caused by recording too near to the microphone's capsule.

I would definitely recommend you to try a different interface that is better designed for professional in-studio recordings. There are several that are within the mid-high quality range that are not that expensive and that can provide a great quality. Within the cheaper side, I like a lot Focusrite's Scarlett series and the PreSonus AudioBox series. If you'd like to find something that is a bit more expensive, you could try the MOTU Track 16 or the RME Babyface. There's also the Apogee One which provides amazing fidelity!

    Hope this helped!

    Hello Angela,

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. It can be difficult to get a straight answer with all the tech out there. So it sounds like a minor interface upgrade could solve a lot of these issues, which is great news. Please bear with me as I get this sorted out. I will check back in with new recordings here once I get this taken care of.

    Hi Court

I'm glad I was able to help! I'd suggest you try the equipment before purchasing it maybe in the store so you can determine which one works best for your necessities.

We'll be looking forward to your new recordings!

    Hello Angela,

Thanks for the audio interface suggestions.  I upgraded to the Focusrite Scarlett and it's a very nice improvement.  Please find a Google Drive link to review below with an updated sample.

Apologies again for uploading commercial studio samples.  Once approved, I'll make sure any new samples loaded will be straight from my studio with these raw settings and without any additional media.  Looking forward to your approval so we can get started.  Thank you.

    Hi Court!

Thank you for sharing. I wanted to compare the files to the old ones but I realized they're not available anymore. However the recording sounds quite good!

I can feel some compression and filtering on the ps and bs. Is this sample raw? I could also pick up some hiss in the back, but I believe this could've been made more noticeable because of the compression or because you added a bit too much gain on your preamplifier.

    Hi Court,

There is a slight compression on the sample which makes the 's's sound a bit off. Did you use and compression or filtering in your DAW?

    Overall the recording sounds good!

    Hope this helps

    Hello Matthew,

    "Overall the recording sounds good!"

Great to hear, so can we reactivate my profile?  I'll double-check my settings before I submit my new samples.  Thanks for your help.

    Hi Court

We won't be able to reactivate the profile until we see the issues have been complete addressed. It would help us a lot if you can answer our questions :)

There is a small amount of filtering.  I updated the Google Drive and added the completely raw recording.  Thank you.

    Hello Bunnies,

It's been two weeks without a reply. Should I just delete my account and start over again? Please advise.

    Hi Court

I apologize for my delay in getting back to you. We had a big backlog of posts and we had to get up to date with them. My apologies again. I do believe that taking into consideration that your account has been inactive for some time now, it could be a good idea to start over. This way, you can receive a new application project that our team will be able to screen. This is up to you though! If you'd like to keep it inactive until we're able to fix the issues, it would work too.

Now, I checked the recording uploaded on March 20 and the files has some hiss noise that is mostly present at the beginning. This could be caused by either your space or by adding too much gain to your preamp. My guess is that it's coming from your space as I also pick up some room echo so I suggest you try to reposition your mic in the space you're recording it. It may help!

Now, The ps and bs still sound as plosives so I believe you are either recording too near to the microphone or without a pop filter. If you're using a pop filter, I suggest you adjust the distance and record a bit farther away. It may also help to record off axis!

    Hi Angela,

I've been getting "are you still available" emails for months and only today did I think to check my profile - I have the same thing (granted, I haven't update my demos for a while) - could you please get in touch and let me know if the QA/audio issue is my cause also ?

    Hi Paul!

I see here that my colleague, Matthew, got back to you via email about this situation. I see as well that your profile is active! Let's hope it all works and you're able to start working with us real soon!
