Submission rejected - wrong accent !!??
So a submission wanted an Irish accent. I'm Irish. A 'manager' rejected it because they said it had to be an Irish accent!!???? Seriously? I know quality control has slipped at voice bunny recently but this takes the biscuit. I listened to the other 2 submissions and they were, honestly, a joke. There's no way either of them has even been to Ireland let alone is Irish! The Irish-accent-impressions they gave were comedy at best, insulting at worst. I don't know who reviews this, but you then get an email which you can't reply to from a faceless, nameless person who has probably never heard an Irish accent or knows what one is. I know plenty or Northern Irish voice actors who would probably get rejected as well because the managers at VB don't understand the region or its accent idiosyncrasies. I'm seriously considering leaving VB after this. Another submission was recently rejected as being too quiet, randomly. Never had a rejection ever before. In a £30'000 purpose-built studio that produces national commercials, audiobooks, radio spots and rents out to other producers. I submitted the exact same submission again and it was accepted. What gives!? There is a lot of negative talk about VB on the professional voiceover forums and I am starting to see why. Shame, as I used to have faith in the system and it worked quite well before.

Liam I feel your pain. I've had exactly the same problem with my Australian accent. Perhaps you should send me your Irish Jobs and I'll send you the Australian ones!
