Hi Tevin,
Unfortunately, the read does sound monotone, as if it was a first time read. There are places where it doesn't flow naturally.
Read it out loud several times, changing intonations and figuring out what sounds best and then record.
Also, watch out for enunciation. Make sure every word is clear, voiceovers usually require you to open your mouth more than you usually do when talking.
