Submission Rejection - Trying to be Better

    Hello Roger,

Well done on your performance! Overall, I thought it was great. There seems to be a plosive sound right around 00:19 or 00:20 that could easily be fixed by turning slightly off-mic or perhaps by not saying the consonants too harshly. Anyway, that is probably the sound Voice Bunny was referring to. Other than that, it would be great if there was a smile in your voice. Your tone is already upbeat and welcoming, but customers and clients can tell when you add a smile. It makes the read even happier and more excited.

Those are my thoughts. As far as overall quality and performance, I thought you did a wonderful job! Blessings to you in your voiceover journey!

    With Joy,

    Heidi

    Hi Roger!

    Thanks for sharing the file.

So, aside from the plosives which I feel are present all over the recording, I do pick up some hiss noise present overall on the recording. I believe this is coming from the equipment as it sounds quite constant throughout the full recording. Can you let me know which microphone, interface, etc. you're using?

Thank you both for the responses! Angela, I use an AT 2020 XLR mic with the 2i2 Scarlett audio interface. Would the interface be causing this hiss?

    Thank you

    Hi Roger

I see. There could be a thing with the gain of your microphone as well. You could try toning it down a bit and try to record always at the same distance from the mic as the volume sounds quite variable throughout the recording. What about we try that? I believe the equipment you have is really nice so I wouldn't necessarily think it's coming from there unless the gain on the preamp is a bit to high. You could also try changing the input from the interface to see if it makes a difference.
