Thanks for your audio. There are some issues with your sample.
I think you may be speaking too close to the mic, this creates undesired plosives (0:05, 0:09, 0:23...). Also this creates a boost in the low frequencies that makes the sound muddy and difficult to understand. The noise floor is also too high, you can hear hiss throughout the recording. This can be related to the equipment you are using and the parameters of your setup.
Thank you so much for your input. I'll try moving away from the mic. The noise floor in my isolation booth is already -90dB so I'm not sure about how to improve that. The audio interface is a Scarlett with a Audio Tecknica BP40 Mic. Where would I look for hiss-I'm having trouble hearing that.
Thanks again for your input. Made me do some troubleshooting I've been needing to do for a while I think. I think the biggest problem was an intermitant failure of my power conditioner which I have replaced along with a new pre-amp and processor. Hopefully you will find this sample much improved.
It seems the hiss is not as noticeable as before, but the last audio is softer than the first, so maybe that's why. The plosives are still present. To solve this just leave more distance between the pop filter and the mic, or you can even try with a double-layer pop. Still I think you are recording too close to the mic, hence the plosives and the voice is not clear, some parts sound a bit mumbled.
Please listen to this sample and give me feedback toward reinstatement.
