Auditon
Good Morning,
I was asked by QC to redo my audition due to overcompression, I removed all processing and resubmitted and was again rejected for over compression. I'm using a CAD E100S with a big high end, could the mic characteristics be the cause of the compressed sound? https://soundcloud.com/anti-oxygen/jason-romine-v2/s-iY7PP Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason,
I personally don't hear much of an issue with compression but there is a bit of distortion in "no problem". Also, it sounds as if there was a sort of noise gate as the start of some words sounds "faded in", they start with a lower volume and ramp up. This is audible for example in "the best way" or "need assistance".
If both of those issues are resolved you'll have a better chance of passing the application process.

Hi Jason!
I agree with Seb's comments. I believe you're using a noise reduction as the recording sounds super filtered. This is noticeable, as Seb mentioned, because of the fades on the words and also because there's a "halo" of sound beneath your voice which is usually a characteristic of overprocessing and noise reduction.
Would you mind sharing a 100% raw recording with us? Keep in mind that it's always much better to fix the issues without the use of any noise filters.
It would also be nice if you can let us know all the pieces of equipment you're using.
