REJECTED application-(compression) Feedback please
Studio Chain-Manley VOXBOX ($4000) Manley Reference Mic-($3000) -Lavry ADII interface ($1700)
Here are the issues found in your application:
Overcompression throughout.
HERE IS THE REJECTED AUDIO
HERE IS THE RAW AUDIO
I thought the rejected audio sounded good-do you think a client would like the raw audio better?\\
Thanks everyone.

Hi James
Both files have a lot of background noise and some room echo that are causing the voice to sound metallic. The processed file doesn't sound well because all the processing added are making the recording distort at times and make the noises much more prominent.
I believe the issue here is directly related to the acoustic treatment of the space you're recording in. I suggest you review how you're recording in your space and how you can improve the acoustics to reduce the noises and extra reflections.
Hi James,
I agree with Angela, the main issue with the recording is the space as it sounds a bit boxy. Also, there's some distortion even in the raw file, for example when you say 'We are hiring'.
Lastly, I would edit out mouth noises/clicks as they are distracting and become even more noticeable when compressed.
You are definitely not far off so send us new samples as soon as you've addressed these issues.

Thank you for the feedback. Is is VERY much appreciated. Can I bother you for another critique? I switched Microphones from the Manley reference to my Sennheiser MKH416. The above link is RAW audio. no processing no noise reduction. Is it still that bad?
Thank you!
James
Hi James
Thanks for sharing!
The slapback is still present and you can also pick up several background noises. The recording also still sounds quite metallic because of the issues with the space so I do highly suggest you to review how you're treating your space.
