Pronouncing a word oddly?
Hi, I got an internal revision for the following file because of the way I pronounced "e-mail".
I've listened back four or five times and I can't, for the life of me, hear anything wrong with that word---am I just crazy? Obviously it's not a big deal and I'll just redo it, but I'm curious as to why it was flagged for pronunciation issue. The specific comment by the QA manager said "sounds like “enail” but I don't hear it that way at all?

Hi Kira!
I think the first "e-mail" sounds a bit like "e-nail" I believe it's because the "m" sound is so so similar to the "n" sound that it sometimes gets tangled. Maybe it's because you're saying "mail" here faster than when you say "mail" later in the text you give the "m" more space.
So, when you say e-mail, you pronounce the "m" a bit faster than when you say just mail which takes the emphasis and makes it feel like an n. This doesn't happen all the times, though. When you say "email blast" the "m" sounds much clearer.
Hope this makes sense!
Also, I just wanted to point out there are some plosives in the recording. Try recording half an inch farther away from your pop filter! :)
