Question on QC note
Hey there!
QC flagged my submission for a "plosive" in the word "personal".
I'm not sure what this means. Could you take a look? It sounds pretty normal to me with no air noise in my "p."
Hi, Vanessa - we've identified some issues with your deliverable:
At 10:26 there's a plosive in 'personal'.

Hi, Vanessa,
A plosive normally refers to air hitting the mic, and in most cases there are excessive low frequencies involved. In your recording you can hear a 'pop' when you say "personal". It's a very common issue with 'p's.
In this case it's not a big issue but if you're already using a pop-shield, you can avoid it by recording words that could cause a plosive at an angle to prevent it.
Hope that helps!
-Seb
Hi Vanessa
Agreed with Seb. I listened to the file and there are several plosives in the recording with 'personal' being the strongest one. I believe that adjusting your distance from your pop filter will do the trick. Plosives are caused, as Seb said, by a column of air hitting the microphone quite hard. This problem is much more present with the letters p, b, sometimes d and h as these sounds use more air to produce sound.
For this, it's important to adjust your distance from your microphone and position yourself at an angle from it to reduce the air pressure that hits the mic. Pop filters are a must to reduce the impact in a good portion!
The rest of the recording sounds really nice and you have a very soothing and nice voice!
