Recent rejection in same space with same equipment....
I've recently had a rejection based on "boxiness" and "a slight hiss". I'm using the same space, same equipment, same post chain, and standing at the same spot. I'm just looking for some help in how to hear/see these issues, and how to correct them. Thanks!
I've included a link to a sample recording to listen to:

Thanks again for any help!

Hi David,
I've listened to your sample and there is a slight background hiss when you speak. Usually, this kind of noise is caused by recording equipment. Would you mind sharing with us your recording equipment/chain? That way we'll be able to give more precise feedback.
In terms of boxiness, I'd say there may be a slight resonance in the low-mid frequency range but I don't find it distracting. This can also vary from day to day as mic positioning an distance can affect perceived acoustics.
Thanks for taking a listen!
Could the hiss be the fluorescent light in the space that I sometimes forget to turn off?
Or it might be my laptop in the space. I try to only record when the fan is not running, but perhaps I missed it.
As far as recording equipment, I'm using a Harlan Hogan mic and Focusrite Scarlett Solo.
I was able to re-record and resubmit the job successfully.
Thanks again!
Yeah, I guess it could be either of those things (the laptop or the light) because the Focusrite shouldn't be making that much noise unless the gain is cranked up really high (beyond 2-3 o'clock).
Alright, I'll play around with those things. Thanks again!
