Hi
After having listenened a couple of times, the audio does not sound entirely raw. Are you processing the recording in any way? It sounds like it has a bit of compression & EQ. High frequencies are not entirely clear, there's a sort of resonance in that area. This could be due to to either the quality of the equipment you're using or by any processing applied.
Also, there's a small amount of room reflections that are affecting the recording, they are subtle but can be hear on the louder portions of the audio. That could be fixed by adding more acoustic treatment.
Hope that helps,
-Seb
Hi Tyesha
I agree with Seb in that the recording doesn't sound raw. The edits are really abrupt and don't flow really well. They sound kind of robotic as the tone and pacing don't match within the takes that were edited.
Also, I do feel some room echo and a bit of hiss noise in your file. Can you let us know how you're recording? Please let us know which equipment you're using and how you have your mic set up. If you can share pictures of your recording space it would be appreciated!
Thank you both so much! You were correct! I went back and discovered the EQ was not flat so now I have adjusted those settings accordingly. Also, I am working out of my home studio and I believe the hissing might be due to the door and mic stand not being fully padded. I’ve corrected those problems as well, so I hope that helps.
Lastly, I really appreciate the help!!! I’ve been acting for years but I’ve just started voice acting. I have the AKG P420 mic. What are your thoughts on it for voice over?
No problem, Tyesha! Glad our feedback has been helpful.
Can you share a new recording with us with the changes you've applied recently? That way we can see if the problems have been successfully fixed!
In regards to the mic, AKG is a great brand and this reference looks really great! I haven't used it personally, but I checked some reviews and it looks really well and balanced. What interface are you using? Keep in mind the preamplifier is very very important in a recording chain as it's what's going to power your mic. The hiss could come from the interface!
Let me know!
Here's a recording. Your thoughts are appreciated!

HI Tyesha!
It sounds really nice! There are some editing issues that are easily fixed by using fades in and out and cutting a bit farther from the edges of the voice. There are also some minor mouth noises so please record a bit off-axis from the microphone.
Compared to the original file you submitted, this really sounds so much better! Congratulations! The changes you made do make a difference.
I say you're good to go! Please request a new application project via the platform. The system will send it automatically anytime within he next 30 days.
