My first audition attempt
Hello, my name is Jordan Horrell, and recently I auditioned for voicebunny and I was rejected.
Here is the audition I submitted: https://drive.google.com/open?id=19fAxig_8zPjZTI9V1tNC1SsmOQ6635lX
The reason it was rejected was apparently this:
"Loud electrical noise/static sounds are impacting your recording and adversely affecting the quality of the deliverable."
So, I am wondering if there is another chance, and what I should do differently.

Hi Jordan
Thanks for sharing your recording. I am checking your file and the recording has a critical level of hiss noise. It also has a very high level of room echo. Also, the recording equipment sounds unprofessional. Can you let us know which equipment you're using to record?
Absolutely. The microphone that I use is a Producer USB mic, and I also use audacity to record my audio.
Hi Jordan
Unfortunately, the USB mic + an inappropriate acoustic treatment of your recording space could be causing the problems in the recording. Keep in mind USB mics are built with low-quality preamps and AD/DA converters to reduce costs and to provide a fast transmission for streaming. For this reason, they are very hissy and the quality is not very good.
I suggest you review upgrading your equipment to an interface and an XLR microphone. There are very good affordable options that you can find online from various brands. We have some articles on the topic you may want to check when choosing your gear.
Also, almost as important as it is to have good quality equipment, it's very important to have an acoustically treated space to record. This will definitely improve your recording level!
Thank you very much.
Anytime! Hope our feedback helped.
What would you recommend me getting? Can you please name a few brands where I should look online?
Hi Jordan!
I replied on the other thread you started :)
