    Hi Steven

Thanks for sharing the recording. Unfortunately, the recording has a high level of room reflections. This is usually caused because of an inadequate acoustic treatment. The recording also sounds quite boxy so I believe it's important to consider reviewing how you're treating your recording area. More likely you have some untreated surfaces that are reflecting too much.

I invite you to take a look at our article Tip #5: Basic acoustic treatment is not rocket science. We give some tips that may be helpful for you when reviewing your room's treatment!

    Hi Steven,

Agree with Angela on the recording audio, but I do like your delivery. Don't give up. One quick tip on a better recording environment with spending NO money: If you have a clothes closet (with clothing) large enough to stand in, try taking a mic in there to record. face the pickup pattern toward the clothing and stand between clothing and the mic. There will be close order reflections off any untreated wall, so avoid those or hang a blanket on the wall.

Of course it will probably better to record in a more conforatble space, but with the appropriate acoustic treatment. A good source for sound absorbing blankets is Vocal Booth To Go. The Producers Choice blankets are large, have grommets, and inexpensive compared to many others. (I have no financial interest in, or connection to the company.)

Also on my recording desk and under my computer I have towels to prevent and close reflections off those surfaces.

Hope these ideas help. Like your voice and delivery.
