Feedback on Room Acoustics - Rejected Application due to room echo
Hi All,
I was hoping to receive some feedback on the audio fidelity of my recording. I received a message that my room acoustics were negatively effecting my audio. I have a fully treated and tuned room (professionally performed), and have never received negative feedback on my recording space in the past.
The only "processing" on this audio is in the recording phase, where I have a 60hZ low-cut, and very minimal amount of compression.
Thanks so much for any feedback!

Hi Jon
I do consider that the recording has a lot of gain and sounds a bit too near to the microphone. This could be because you're using too much gain and the compression you're adding is also adding to the problem. I suggest you record without any compressor and/other processing and reduce the gain on your preamp a couple of dBs. Also, there are several plosives so you may want to stand a couple of inches away from the mic's capsule
The room acoustics also make the recording sound a bit boxy, but I think this characteristic is being boosted due to the compression being added.
Can you record again taking this into account and share a 100% raw recording?
Thanks!
Hi Angela,
Thanks for your feedback. I suppose I am more accustomed to providing a "final product" as opposed to a "raw recording." I will record as you have suggested and provide a new example.
Thanks!
Hi Angela,
I have followed your instructions and am providing a recording with no processing and no compression. Please let me know what you think when you have the time.

Hi Jon
The recording sounds much better. It has a little bit of too much gain, so I'd also recommend lowering it a bit and also adjust the distance with your pop filter as there are still some plosives and mouth noises.
Also, we do want raw recordings when it comes to processing, but we do need it to be clean so please cut the breaths and other mouth noises that can be cut! Other than that, I believe this is good to go. Take into considerations these comments and I believe you can apply again.
